Job description
Role & responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organization.
- This includes managing budgets, organizing schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.
- Overseeing the ordering & product availability.
- Ensuring proper load ability of trucks (optimum utilization of space).
- Keeping focus & minimizing vehicle turnaround time.
- Scheduling loading/Unloading activity in such a manner that maximum output can be obtained.
- Ensuring zero tolerance in loading of stocks (proper counting & checking mechanism to be put in place to avoid stock mismatch).
- Ensuring all outward vehicles should be handed over with all valid required documents.
- Execute Daily dispatch in line with the plan.
- Improve loading practice as per SOP to minimize in-transit damage.
- Inventory control.- follow FIFO/LIFO, stacking norms, Minimum and Maximum stock limit.
- Timely Order Execution tracking and delivery status at DB point.
- Co-ordination with sales team for day today activities.
- To provide timely solutions if shortage/excess/damage occurred during the transit.
- Execute the Sales return process following the SOP and timeline.
- Daily FG physical stock taking and to find out route cause analysis in case of any stock variance.
- Maintain -Plano gram for warehouse, space optimization and other warehouse operations.
- Build and maintain good relations with all stakeholders.
- Identify process bottlenecks & implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Taking care of quality norms related to loading/unloading (vehicle checklist, stacking norms etc.)
- Ensure all daily, weekly, monthly reports are prepared, checked & circulated as per defined
Preferred candidate profile
- At least 1 years experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry.
- Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles.
- Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
- Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
- Good personal management skills, maintaining strong working relationships with both drivers and clients
- Excellent communications skills
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
- Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits, and attending company safety meetings
