Senior Manager - Legal Job Purpose: The role holder will act as a partner to the assigned business teams providing strategic and legal guidance to achieve business objectives. The role holder will be responsible for managing all contract negotiations, regulatory compliances and litigation related matters in order to maximize/ obtain favourable results as well as minimize the negative effects on the business Key Accountabilities: Individual Accountabilities: - Strategic Partnership and Advisory - Responsible for providing legal counsel, strategic guidance and support to various business teams for development, monetization, protection and safekeeping of content created and owned by the company - Lead development of legal strategy roadmap for various business teams across linear and digital platforms. - Lead structuring, negotiation, drafting and closing all agreements. - Advise business teams on appropriate deal terms/rights structures, lead negotiation and structuring of contracts ensuring compliance with regulatory norms - Liaison and advise the Digital Piracy Monitoring Team on a day to day basis in relation to various rights including the digital rights of the various content - Work closely with the Rights Management (RMS) Team to compile relevant rights data for various films for the Digital Piracy Monitoring Team - Lead structuring and negotiation of agreements for data licenses, enterprise software, digital content agreements, Adtech, intellectual property protection and license agreements - Provide strategic legal and commercial advice to regional teams on applicable laws, regulations, compliance and risks relating to business - Advise business teams on appropriate deal terms/rights structures to be secured consistently across the markets whilst meeting local legal and regulatory requirements - Maintain relationships with key agencies, attorneys, production houses, licensees in the entertainment community - Liaison with litigation team to ensure effective litigation management including copyrights issues for the business teams - Legal Operations - Oversee the internal process for vetting of all vendor contracts and agreements in a time bound manner; Ensure administration of legal operations within the defined budgets including control on external legal spend Key Shared Accountabilities: - Partner with various business teams to identify current and upcoming issues including any regulatory guidelines that could impact the business, estimate risks strategically and provide pro-active solutions to eliminate or mitigate the risks
