Senior Manager/Junior Manager/Assistant Manager - Enamel Development - R&D Team - Paints

Enamel Development Sr Manager/Jr Manager/AM for Vasind R&D team for a leading paint organization

- Science graduate, M Sc., Paint Technologist preferred.

- Innovative mind set with keen interest in science and through in fundamental science.

- High Logical and reasoning ability.

- Should have 5-7 years of hand on experience in development of new decorative emulsion paints, and at least 3 year experience of water based enamel development.

- New Product development as per marketing inputs or inputs from other functions including R&D's internal innovation project proposals. Excellent understanding of competition benchmarking across product categories with respect to product quality and offerings as well as application practices across country including painter preferences and practices.

- Through technical knowledge of raw materials used in paint industry with respect to its physical and chemical properties, both for Decorative and industrial products performance requirement in different types of paints, specification for understanding of quality, test methods for evaluating quality.

- Knowledge of alternate raw materials from multiple vendors with specific strengths and limitations.

- Conversant with Indian standards, ASTM and other international standards related to paints raw materials, procedures for practical use of those standard.

- Good understanding of effect of variation in physical properties of RM and their effect on the performance of paint/coating.

- Product up-gradation of existing decorative productsas per market demand and changing market practices and preferences.

- Hands on experience in development of Acrylic emulsions in all the categories for interior and exterior category, Alkyd enamels in all categories, colorants and machine tinting, universal stainer, Effect finishes, Wood finishes, Texture finishes etc.

- Excellent understanding of environmental standards and products meeting environmental compliances such as lead and heavy metal free products, Respirable Crystalline Silica free products, VOC compliances, CMR, HAPS, OHSA etc.

- Cost reduction/optimizationand value engineering initiatives.

- Import substitution of RM with cost effective indigenous substitutes.

- Technology tie ups and technological collaboration management

- Identification of competitive sourcing of right quality of testing equipment

- Through knowledge of Benchmarking and performance evaluation and testing of decorative products.

- Lead, Motivate and Training and development of Team members

- R&D expenditure & Capital budgeting

- Handling and resolving Customer complaints, conducting RCA (Root Cause Analysis)

- Evaluation of alternate raw materials like pigment, resin, solvents and additives in Standard products for product up gradation/ improvement.

- Understanding of Indian standards / specifications, customer specifications and joint evaluation of products along with customer

- Coordination with Plant for piloting / upscaling of new products and standardization of the same
