Qualifications :

- A Chartered Accountant with strong Indirect tax background - either in Industry or with a Big 4 consultant firm

- 15-20 years of work experience

- Has worked in a managerial capacity for appr. 10 years and has successfully developed more junior team members

- Understanding of the Tax requirements as it relates to process, financial and physical transactions

- Has ideally worked in a SAP environment

- Excellent communication skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross geographic and cross cultural team

- Strong process modeling skills

- Negotiation, decision making and issue resolution skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time

- Proactive, self- motivated and strategic

Job description :

- Responsible for managing India/Malaysia Indirect tax processes with a high focus on operations and efficient planning around high impact areas which need deliberation on a/c of ambiguity in the law or higher tax risks

- Ensuring timely filing of direct & Indirect tax returns in compliance with local legal regulations

- Appearance before regulatory authorities for regular notices/managing the audits. Should be able to handle tax litigation's with various Authorities

- Acts as an in-house advisor to various functions, is a partner of the business. Provides tax services and advice in assigned areas of technical, business or geographic expertise to Agilent at the enterprise and entity levels

- Risk mitigation in the organization through Internal Audit & working towards internal & management audit reports

- Participation in Project calls/core meetings to analyze/share the impact on Tax Planning & Compliance incase of Merger & Acquisitions

- Manages external consultants and counsels on various opinions/advisory matters (including budget management)

- Directs, manages resources to implement strategic business plans and Compliance processes

- Should possess strong Interpretative skills to decipher government policies behind any tax decisions with a reasonable blend of legal provisions

- Responsible for building relationships and providing consultancy and pro-active planning to businesses and functions

- Responsible for continuous review of Tax function to identify & implement new avenues of Tax savings
