Key Responsibilities :

- Work closely with the clients to review business processes and evaluate compliance requirements and opportunities for improvement

- Proactively support to clients by advising on various business transactions as well as assist in structuring the transactions from indirect tax compliance perspective

- Represent the firm at various industry and professional forums

- Draft replies, appeals and appear or represent before various statutory authorities as well as first level appellate authorities

- Decide the strategy for major litigations in co-ordination with the client teams

- Evaluate relevant Government policies relating to taxes. Ensure ailment of benefits under those policies in time and keep clients updated on related developments.

- Lay down processes for improvement as well as strengthen the practice in the region

- Examine any changes in Acts and Tax laws and update the clients on the changes

- Ensure maintenance of detailed and up-to-date records and ensure timely response to all the correspondences viz. show cause notices, assessment notices etc. to the statutory authorities

- Conduct learning sessions and develop knowledge sharing forums with other functions within the firm as well as with clients

- Take charge for implementing the regulatory changes and managing their impact on business

Desired Profile :

- 8 - 12 + years experience in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry.

- CA with relevant experience in the tax and regulatory matters and In-depth understanding of Taxation

- Experience in leading tax and audit firms or similar consulting organizations

- Expertise in tax planning as well as tax compliance with a view to optimizes tax benefits for clients.

- Experience in handling compliances for clients pertaining to direct taxes and / or indirect taxes

- Excellent project management and client relationship skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.

- Proven business development skills with exceptional market connect and networking skills.

- Ability to think laterally, showcase business acumen and be well versed in current trends and developments across business & economy

- Ability to take independent decisions and guide business in tune with changes in the regulatory environment

- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Must work well in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.

- Prior management and direct supervisory experience in a team environment required. Demonstrated mentoring and people development skills.

- Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in times of high stress.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Excellent time management skills. Must have ability to multi-task.

- Regular reading habit for updating himself/herself and exhibit high level of confidentiality

- Enjoys travelling and meeting new people. Able to travel as required to meet client needs
