Role : Senior Manager - Global Mobility & Immigration

Work Location : New Delhi

General :

- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal clients and external suppliers

- Review and approve contracts with global and local vendors

- Provide advice to clients and be a sounding board on potential proposals

- Create/develop existing country/state specific pre-assignment and post-assignment orientation program (language, culture, laws, maps, resources, etc)

- Project management

- Manage and develop Global Mobility team (as appropriate)

- Strategic planning aligned to the business growth strategy

- Develop program to allow candidates to self-identify desire for assignment, relocation and/or secondment and match with Firm's needs

Advisory :

- Provide cost projections for assignments to the business

- Advise internal Clients and stake holders on how assignments should be managed to ensure they are cost effective

- Support the HR Advisory teams in all offices through the provision of specialist advice.

- Liaise with Clients and HR teams in relation to succession Planning

Operational :

- Ensure all parties are aware of assignments and the relevant actions have been put in place

- Repatriation and reintegration post assignment

- Develop mentor program to ensure connection to Firm during secondments

- Ensure assignment documentation is correctly issued and filed

- Monitor immigration regulations and compliance, put in place measures to ensure compliance

- Manage the review of the assignment allowances, per diem rates etc

- Improve & Develop immigration and related processes Make the required initiations with the outsourced providers- and monitor progress of all moves as appropriate reporting back to internal clients/HR regularly

- Institutionalize Corporate Policies

- Respond to ad hoc issues relating to all aspects of an assignment, relocation or repatriation

- Review and manage all assignment terms on a global basis to ensure accuracy.

- Managing Operations including pay roll, insurances etc.

- Identify areas of improvement and contribute for process improvements through automation and simplified processes. Coordinate/collaborate with Travel and Hospitality teams to formulate policies and build systemic checks to ensure immigration compliance controls are implemented

- Front end internal and external audits with the support from Operations team.

Supplier Management :

- Build and maintain regular contact with specialist advisors/providers eg. Immigration Advisors, Consulate.

Policy :

- Keep abreast of industry and more broader GM policy developments

- Support the ongoing review and updating of existing global mobility policies to ensure policies meet business needs.

- Manage compliance to the policies

Regulatory :

- Management of all associated compliance processes for international assignees.

- Monitor emerging trends in global mobility with help from Immigration specialist team in GIMS and attorneys to deploy/revise regulations, rules and policies

- Ensure regulations, rules, and policies for global mobility are adhered by employees and business teams and there by ensure complete compliance.

- Tracking and implementing audit observations.

- Monitor the activities of employees and business unit to identify possible trends both good and bad in global mobility and conduct mock audits & mitigate vulnerability/risk arising on global mobility by creating a plan for corrective action.

- Provide periodic reviews.

- Collaborate and coordinate with Legal, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management to analyze the compliance exposure and implement remediation/risk mitigation controls in processes and systems.

- Compliance, audit and risk dash boards to management on periodic basis.

- Conduct periodic reviews with business units and employees to ensure continued compliance and accuracy.

- Interact with employees and business teams and communicate issues effectively that are related to immigration compliance.

- Implement disciplinary action on identified violations in consultation with the management.

- Should be competent with Immigration Operations and Compliance management for Global mobility in accordance with the country specific relevant regulations and practices

- Should have excellent inter personal skills and capability to manage the Business Relationship with internal stakeholders

- Knowledgeable about the immigration practice and related aspects of onsite deputation.

Required :

- Masters in Human Resources. Preferably with LLB

- 8-12 years of working experience in talent delivery, advisory, or other related HR area of expertise.

- Experience operating within a large, multi-site or multi-national organization.

- Strong project management experience.

- Affinity towards working in a continually evolving environment requiring ingenuity, innovation, and flexibility.

- Experience building relationships and partnering with key stakeholders at senior levels.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; executive presence.

- Consultative approach towards clients with a cross-cultural sensitivity.

- Proven ability to excel in a high volume, fast-paced, complex environment.

- Highly self-motivated and able to drive results while working in a virtual team environment.

- Strong strategic-thinking skills with an ability to identify, recommend, and collaborate with team members on process improvements and best practices.

- Adept at navigating ambiguous situations; driving standardization, while delicately balancing a need for exceptions based on unique circumstances.

- Ability to work autonomously, with critical understanding of when to escalate matters for leadership approval.

- High degree of confidentiality, exercising care in addressing issues

- Experience working in a multi-national, global team environment

- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Proficiency with SharePoint.

Preferred :

- Specific experience helping multinational organizations manage the process of deploying an international workforce (mobility) from start to finish, including complex tax, planning, administrative and strategic aspects is strongly desired.

- Knowledge of employee cross-border movements including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign compliances.

- Global Mobility technical expertise (e.g. deployment lifecycle and processes) is an asset.
