Freight Cost Management :

a) Primary Transportation :

- Ensure Transporter satisfying the criteria of selection are shortlisted - Conducting Reverse Auction and subsequent offline negotiations.

- In case of mid-year resignations/service issue, supporting in getting new transporters at minimum cost impact for Primary lanes.

- Provide the Spot rates to the concerned stakeholders for Primary transportation within the defined TAT

- Provide ADHOC rates to the concerned stakeholders for required lanes b) Secondary Transportation

- Conduct the activity of Floating RFQ, Compiling Quotes and conducting final negotiations for Secondary Transportation.

Customer Service :

- Provide SPOT rates to the concerned stakeholders within the defined TAT.

- Assisting in finalizing the new transporters for Secondary lanes, where either due to existing vendor's resignation/service level issues to maintain smooth supplies.

- Assist Logistics team in Vehicle placement during Exigencies.

Freight Process Management :

- Ensure on time and accurate updation of the Freight masters.

- Conduct Diesel Cost impact computation and update in Freight masters on fortnightly basis.

- Working and Circulation of revised freight master to all respective transporters of Depots/Primary during freight changes.

- Ensure timely addressal of Query Bills and work towards process improvement to achieve reduction in query bills.

- Preparing and getting the approval notes for any change in Primary/Secondary freight rates within FY.

- Review the updation of freight masters Spot rates / Adhoc Rates / Pull Back Rates during Approval sign off stage.

Transportation Payments Management :

- Coordinate with Accounts and Logistics teams for periodic transporter reconciliation

Cost Saving Initiatives :

- Evaluation of Container Rail routes, Millennial rail routes, Multimodal-coastal, etc. - Manage the updation of trackers for the Mode mix and truck type used.

People Development:

- Ensure that all team members have complete clarity on their Roles and responsibilities, and have the necessary tools and awareness of relevant SOP's. Coach team on delivering on all aspects of their role, and support with obstacle-busting where needed

- Provide timely assessment and quality feedback on improvement areas to each team member on all aspects of their performance
