Senior Manager - Evidence Based Advocacy

Evidence Based Advocacy is the use of evidence to effectively influence significant changes in government policies that will take us closer to our goals. Evidence could be results of academic research/grant experience/impact assessments/Research & Learning/Prototyping exercise/Randomised Controlled Trials, etc. Advocacy could be targeted at external stakeholders like beneficiaries, Government, Donors, partners through case advocacy, policy meetings, workshops, training, network discussions, Media. Advocacy could also be internal and targeted at internal teams, management and board.

Policy refers to any government interventions directly or indirectly affecting nutrition status of children. The focus is on public policies around health and nutrition adopted and implemented by government. This may include agendas/policy discussions, Official statements, government orders, government budget, implementation processes, Government schemes and their deployment.

Key Responsibilities - 

Influence significant changes in government policies that will take us closer to our goals by

- Being on top of relevant academic research, impact assessments, Research & Learning from within APPI Grants, Learnings from Prototypes and pilots, Randomised Controlled Trials relevant to the domain, etc.

- Being on top of public policies around health and nutrition adopted and implemented by government of Odisha. Like agendas/policy discussions, Official statements, government orders, government budget, implementation processes, Government schemes and their deployment.

- Identify Advocacy gaps (Internal/External stakeholders) and conduct case advocacy, policy meetings, workshops, training, network discussions, Media to bring about desired change. This includes packaging of content that will be used for communication for the advocacy interventions above.

Key Requirements - 

- Experience in analysing research reports and communicating the insights to others through clear and simple communications/language.

- Experience & Expertise in working in Public Health, Nutrition in India.

- Considerable field work/grassroots experience
