Job Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a Machine Assembly team of around 150 workers and other engineers and nurture an environment where the team can excel through encouragement and empowerment.
- Deploying & implementing the vision & strategy of department further down the line to achieve short term/long term objectives.
- Responsible for end to end machine assembly (mechanical part) work viz. Framework, General Assembly of Generator Pump/Filter, Final Inspection & testing until machine dispatch.
- Taking initiatives for productivity improvements, system improvement, planning & control, optimum utilization of resources (i.e. manpower, machines and available capacity) and long term sustenance of the same.
- To review, monitor & enhance the operational effectiveness and quality production by implementing the identified best in class assembly practices and monitoring its implementation and sustaining the same over long period.
- Ensuring availability of manpower to achieve the on time delivery as per plan.
- Conceptualising & driving the lean manufacturing techniques (i.e Just in Time, KANBAN), low cost automation / cost reduction projects / Technology up gradation projects to achieve TAKT Time in Assembly line.
- Ensuring all Safety Norms & 5S are being followed and maintained on the shop floor.
- Identification of Training need, Imparting a job specific Training & measuring Training Effectiveness.
Experience - 20-25 Years (Minimum 12-15 years of experience in Sr. Management level in Machine Building Industry)
- Proven working experience with strong leadership/team management skills.
- Candidate from Precision Machine Building Industry / Heavy Machinery preferred.
- Productivity improvements & process engineering in large assembly setup.
