Job Description -
- Providing strategic advice and direction on privacy issues across the organization
- Developing, implementing and driving organization's privacy projects and strategies and managing privacy compliance programs.
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure their support of and alignment with the organizational privacy programmes objectives and requirements
- Monitoring developments in regulatory and legislative change and best practice and advising the wider organization on necessary organizational changes required
- Driving awareness and accountability throughout the organization toward greater business transparency and reinforcing trust from customers, business partners and consumers
- Proactively identifying, evaluating and managing risks in a way that enables the company to deliver sustainable business growth
- Reviewing and negotiating contractual arrangements with customers, partners and vendors, as a resource and escalation point on data privacy matters for colleagues across the organization.
- Supporting growth of new business opportunities by analysing privacy implications of new products and services and providing guidance on minimising privacy compliance risk
- Developing and conducting privacy impact and risk assessments
- Regularly reviewing and evaluating compliance processes to guarantee best practice across all areas of the organisation ensuring appropriate monitoring and auditing processes are effectively implemented
Qualifications and Experience -
- Law graduate with a minimum 5 years experience in a top law firm and/or in-house legal department with a Technology/Product/ E-commerce organization
- Professional credentials such as CIPP/APAC, CIPM, DCPP will have an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong background in information security and technology
- Detail and process oriented, thought leader and well versed with latest trends. Self-starter and able to work independently
- Experience to operate within an international environment with a diversity of cultures
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to balance legal risks with commercial needs
