We are looking for a CA for one of the largest and reputed conglomerate in India in the indirect tax area.

Job Purpose: Ensure advice to procurement department and advise query resolution to SBUs on Customs /excise areas.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

Strategic

- Advice to Procurement department / CHAs on assessment of bill of entry of all imports, which determination of correct classification and rate and correct accessible value of the imported goods, for optimization duty payout.

- Advice on declarations on relationship / ALP etc. on related party imports.

- Reply to show cause notices and drafting of appeals against adverse orders with support of counsels and heal indirect tax.

Operational

- Finalization of pending provisional assessments in different locations.

- Handling DRI and DGCE1 inquiries as and when they arise, both directly and jointly with units.

- Briefing counsels on pending litigation before courts and tribunals in custom and excise matters.

- Advisory & query resolutions to SBUs/Units in customs & central excise, including inter alia:

Classification and correct tariff head of new products

Availing exemption notifications correctly

Advice on new notifications and circulars impacting all areas including tariff rates, valuation procedural changes.

Team and People :

- Support on transition to GST (when introduced)

Preferred Skills:

Qualifications: CA /LLB

Essential: Knowledge of customs and excise law and rules, and experience of dealing with customs department and revenue authorities

Desirable:

Work Experience: 7 - 8 years exp.
