Key responsibilities will include: - Experience in corporate legal department of an insurance company/insurance brokerage/Insurance web aggregator is a must - End to End contract management. Drafting, reviewing and redlining contracts and other transactional documents, and aligning the same with organizational objectives. Ensure the legality of contractual transactions and advising business on their legal rights and duties. Getting on calls with various internal and external stakeholders for closure of contracts on a need basis. - Handling all legal disputes including litigation and pre-litigation matters, consumer complaints, employee related issues. Coordinating with concerned advocates and keeping a track on the progress of all legal matters. - Drafting and vetting of various legal documents viz, petitions, pleadings, affidavits, appeals, civil or criminal complaints, notices and replies. - Liaising with police and other law enforcement agencies and taking lead in handling and resolving all related matters. - Assist business in conducting investigations in fraud or any other suspected matters. Advising on legal implications and making recommendations. Strategizing and handling legal actions in this regard. - Research and analyze areas of insurance laws and other commercial laws as relevant to the company's business and prospects; Candidate must be: - A law graduate i.e. LL.B. (LL.M. is a plus) from a premier Law School in India. - Have 8-11 years of total post-qualification experience in the insurance industry and/or law firms focusing on clients from such domain. - Have thorough understanding and hands on experience of regulatory framework around insurance industry. - Possess excellent documenting, recording and project management abilities.
