Job Title: Sr. Manager- Category

Job Location: Noida

PURPOSE OF JOB :

Responsible for managing specific categories and maximizing the sales and margin while achieving budget requirements. A successful candidate will be sure to stay current with market trends and competitive with key competitors in the business (assortment, pricing, space, etc). Analysis of the categories (market data, sales insight) is expected and required for the position. Ability to plan the direction and strategy for categories 2+ years out with regards to sales, footage requirements, fixtures, etc.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for maximizing the sales and profit of the categories and achieving sales budgets while remaining competitive in the marketplace.

- Management of market development funds, (e.g. co-op, V.R.), product returns and inventory mix.

- Negotiate all vendor buying agreements between the company and respective suppliers.

- Work with vendors on promotional planning, funding, in-store merchandising and inventory.

- Selecting products for advertising through flyers, online, social media etc., and ensuring pricing accuracy

- Maximizing the inventory turns in the categories while maintaining an adequate in stock position to maximize sales in all stores

- Actioning slow moving and discontinued products on a monthly basis and developing action plans to accelerate sales to move the inventory

- Work closely with your category specialist to ensure adequate inventory is ordered and placed in the correct stores allowing for maximum sales and regional sales differences.

- Line reviews annually on each category, documenting all financials for the business as well as detailing status of competition with regards to space, pricing, assortment etc.

- Work collaboratively with members of the advertising, marketing, web, signage and operations teams on merchandising/advertising opportunities

- Work collaboratively with members of the online team ensuring they are up to date with all new product additions, pricing, advertising etc.

- Plan website promotional vehicles including banners, and promo pages as examples.

- Plan website layout and taxonomy to improve customer shopping experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 2-7 years of category management.

Education:

Post Graduate from Tier 1/Tier 2 college(2015/16/17 batch preferable)

Graduate from Tier 1/Tier 2 college.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

- 6 Days working attitude

- Periodic travel required.
