Role Context The role is responsible for the delivery of regulatory related end to end projects. This is a global team, working on both market risk and counterparty credit risk projects that cut across multiple regulatory jurisdictions. The team works on multiple projects at any time. The role advertised is to work specifically on the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Programme. Responsibilities -&nbsp; 1. Business analysis a. Develop the key artefacts required under either Waterfall or Agile methodology (including high-level business requirements, solution design, functional and non-functional requirements), to a clear and unambiguous standard, as a solid foundation for implementation by Software Delivery (SWD). b. Promote visibility, understanding and approval of the requirements with all regional stakeholders at all stages of initiation and definition; obtain sign-offs c. Liaise with Software Delivery in the specification, production and subsequent software development d. Ensure that the integrity of the risk systems is maintained by supporting strategic requirements 2. Project management a. Support the Project Manager to: i. Run working groups with key stakeholders; ii. Track progress against project plan iii. Develop the test strategy iv. Provide regular status updates v. Escalate risks, issues and dependencies impacting the project 3. Testing a. Develop the test strategy in conjunction with IT and business stakeholders b. Liaise with SWD to provide ST and SIT test plans, arrange test environments and testing support. c. Liaise with users to confirm test requirements and ensure suitable UAT test plans are constructed. d. Perform sanity checks that the requirements are satisfied e. Ensure all testing is conducted in an orderly and efficient way. 4. Stakeholder engagement a. Constructive engagement with key stakeholders i.e. risk management, risk control, WMRT transformation component PMs/ BAs, Software delivery teams, FO Project team, design architects 5. Status reporting a. Provide periodic status updates regarding project status, test completion status, RAID Log, in the tools and templates selected by the wider SWD and Transformation team 6. Be able to work in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies 7. Maintain Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. 8. Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations. Qualifications - Educated to at least degree level - Additional qualifications in Risk would be useful - Additional qualifications in business analysis would be useful Experience Required - Very strong understanding of market risk measures used for risk management and for determining regulatory capital under current rules. - Must have worked extensively on the topic of FRTB - Business analysis experience - Previous experience working closely with software development - Some previous experience working closely across multiple regions Desired - Some exposure to market risk reporting platforms and to risk engines - Some previous experience of the aggregation of very large volumes of market risk measures across multiple dimensions - Some previous experience of OLAP/cube technology very desirable Skills - Focused and delivery-driven with ability to meet tight deadlines - Ability to adapt and prioritise appropriately in a fast moving and often evolving environment. - Pragmatic decision making capability. - Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and apply sound business and technical domain knowledge - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are vital for this role - Team player with good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. - Willingness to dig into details; appetite, enthusiasm and desire to acquire technical and systems knowledge; initiate change and execute strategy Major Challenges 1. Tight timescales to achieve project objectives across a multiplicity of risk system components. 2. Keeping business informed and engaged; managing the expectations of all stakeholders. 3. Ensuring that project objectives, priorities, targets and benefits are met within timelines, and with minimum disruption to existing risk systems, or to risk management/ control. Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements) The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators. The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term - compliance- embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity.
