Key Result Areas :

1. Responsible for handling all legal matters and instituting systems and legal practices

2. Interpret and apply the legal process, issue rulings and opinions on legal disputes

3. Responsible to handle court litigations, quasi litigations, commercial contracts, legal documentation, intellectual property matters, legal compliance management, legal and litigation support to business units and immoveable property matters

4. Timely Drafting and vetting of legal documents/commercial contracts. Timely Opinion/advice on issues referred to Legal Dept.

5. Maintenance of Legal Cases records and general communication

6. Follow-up of litigation by or against the company with lawyer and in court

7. Timely and appropriate response to notices and Petition from court

8. Creating/Up-dating of legal Knowledge/Compliance through training and other modes

9. Handling of Arbitration Proceedings for Recovery

10. Preparation & drafting of standard legal contracts for the company

Critical Task :

1. Advise the executives and employees on changes to the laws affecting the company

2. Investigate if the company or a staff member does not comply with the law

3. Oversee lawsuits, possibly acting as chief litigator

4. Ensure the company fills out and submits all its legal paperwork

5. Manage the legal budget to get the most services for the least money

6. Be conscious of the needs of the company's owners

7. Stay informed about what's going on at the company

8. Understand the business and the industry
