- PATH is seeking a Senior International Accountant for the International Accounting Services (IAS) team. With approximately half of expense transactions occurring outside the US, the IAS Team is an integral part of the global accounting and internal control organization. - PATH is an international organization that drives transformative innovation to save lives and improve health, especially among women and children. Together, we deliver measurable results that disrupt the cycle of poor health. - The IAS team consists of six accounting staff located at our headquarters in Seattle, WA, USA as well as in Nairobi, Kenya providing the quality control review process of international transactions to ensure the accuracy of the accounting/bookkeeping activity in over 20 offices located in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant in New Delhi, India to support PATH offices in South and East Asia. Responsibilities: - Review and analyze country office transactions, including vendor invoices, employee expense reports and general ledger transactions to ensure compliance with not-for-profit US GAAP, IFRS, government and funder rules and regulations, and PATH policies and procedures. - Review of country office monthly financial results. - Provide support and guidance to country office finance and accounting personnel, especially during month-end close. - Communicate and follow up with country office on findings and issues, provide guidance and training to staff in country offices. - Prepare, analyze and complete reconciliations of complicated general ledger accounts. - Provide training and guidance to country offices staff in formal and informal setting. - Develop training materials and define scope of training based on assessment of trainees- needs. - Travel to country offices to provide support and training, about 1-3 times per year depending on the needs and funding. - Manage, direct and participate in team projects. - Monitor and evaluate accounting processes and internal controls in country offices. Provide necessary guidance for improvement and changes. - Recommend, contribute and develop procedures and policies. - Assist in coordination and preparation of internal and external audits. Required Experience: - Minimum 3 years of broad accounting and/or audit experience. - Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas: - ERP systems and internal controls. - US GAAP and IFRS. - Knowledge of payroll processes and related government reporting. - Developing, conducting and facilitating training activities. - Accounting in multi-currency environment and partner reporting is highly desirable. - Experience working for international organization, not-for-profit a preference. - Knowledge of USAID regulations (OMB Circular A-122, or Super Circular) preferred. - Highly skilled in complex account reconciliations with keen attention to details and ability to analyze data, research information to clarify issues, find and propose appropriate solutions. - High level of proficiency using MS Excel and other MS Office products. - Superior communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to communicate information and ideas effectively via email, phone, or in-person, with high diplomacy and cross-cultural sensitivity. Experience in multi-lingual environment is preferred. - Proven ability to balance multiple competing demands, maintain attention to details, and consistently meet deadlines under time pressure. - Strong ability to work independently and to collaborate as a team member from different geographical location. Additional skills and experience: - Ability to work flexible hours as needed for video or audit conference calls with team members in other locations around the world. - Familiarity with Unit 4 Business World or similar ERP systems an added bonus. - Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
