Profile :- Senior Manager- Internal Audit

Location :- Uganda

Education :- CA

Purpose:

To assume end to end responsibilities for both the risk management and internal audit function for all the group companies in Uganda.

Responsibilities:

Audit Planning/Design

- Develop an annual audit plan

- Checking out all the cane farm operational activities and cane farm stock verifications.

- Evaluate proposals, recommendations and corrective actions

- Review Business Process and automation

- Risk management and compliance

- Schedule and assign audits to team members, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.

- Ensure quality control of the teams audit work and plan on an ongoing basis.

- Evaluating competencies of the team members and training and re-training them from time to time

- Report to the audit committee/ board at the required intervals on Internal Audit assignments including planned reviews, investigations, risk advisory work and any other activity as required.

- Preparation & updation of internal audit MIS.

Improving the Practice of Audits/Risk Management

- Build relationships with leaders across the organization to understand issues and identify areas for improvement for the organization as a whole.

- Support and encourage team members to be proactive in identifying opportunities to share best practice with Managers, HODs, CEO /MD to improve the control environment.

- Develop new methodologies to improve the audit process, making it easier for the organization to request audits and implement recommendations.

- Provide assistance to the business in meeting regulatory requirements.

- Keep abreast of developments in Corporate Governance practices and advise the business accordingly.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

- Chartered Accountant experienced in manufacturing setup

- In depth ability in auditing, financial analysis and business developments

- Knowledge of Financial management, Cost Accounting, Audit operations

- Ability to analyse and break complex problems into smaller manageable parts.

- Good communication and language skills.

- Ability to multi-task without getting stressed.

- High Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS project, data management, exposure to SAP/ Other ERP
