Senior General Manager - Safety Health & Environment

Job Description:

- Responsible for designing, implementing and updating EHS systems and procedures across the plants of business unit to bring about safety culture amongst employees.

- Ensure compliance of Factories Act/ Rules, Environmental Protection Act, and amendments thereto to all units on behalf of the Occupier to meet statutory requirement.

- Responsible for legal compliances at all sites relevant to EHS.

- Liaison with external agencies at local/ state/ central level.

- Ensure all time audit readiness (Statutory & Customer audits) of all the sites from EHS point of view.

- Review the plan for internal EHS audits and monitoring the effectiveness of the same.

- Responsible for timely closure of any critical or major observations in audits.

- Responsible for identifying training needs at business unit level, developing modules for addressing the gaps and effective training implementation.

- Gear up all sites for effective implementation of 5S systems & ISO and OHSAS standards.

- Responsible for developing strong and competent team down the line.

Should have exposure to following areas (but not limited to):

- Process safety and risk management aspects - HAZOP, JSA etc

- Conducting internal safety audits

- Behavior Based Safety

- Handling hazardous chemicals and treatment of hazardous waste

- Deciding specs of new safety systems and evaluating projects for safety requirement

- Industrial Hygiene monitoring

- ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certification

Candidate desired Skills and Experience:

Qualification:

(i) BE/ B Tech (Chemical) / M.Sc. Chemistry

(ii) Qualified Safety Professional as per statutory requirement

(iii) Safety related certification courses

Experience: Around 20 years in Industrial Safety in Agro-Chemical/ pharmaceutical/ chemicals/ petrochemical industries.
