Sr Manager (Head)-APAC Payroll Job Summary : - Responsible for the leadership, planning and execution on payroll function in Rest of Asia. Additionally, there will be a major focus on improving the Employee, Manager and HR experience and overall ease of liaising with payroll team leading to increased employee satisfaction. - This role will lead a team of payroll experts who provide proactive payroll administration and advisory services to our ROA employees whilst also be heavily involved in the implementation of our new Asia Pacific Payroll system / strategy. - This role would suit an experienced, confident Senior Payroll Manager who is a strong leader whilst can also balance working on an implementation with extensive project management experience. - The roles responsibilities will grow into managing payroll vendor performance that includes SLA management, all validation of payroll processes and results provided, guiding the outsourced vendor to ensure organization is adhered to both local employment and payroll regulatory requirements. Responsibilities : - Lead the Rest of Asia Payroll teams on the full spectrum of payroll operations and time management (where applicable) to ensure that payroll is processed seamlessly through our outsourced vendor. - Manage and supervise a team of members inclusive of their training, development and performance review and management. - Work with our payroll vendor and liaise with APAC Country Controllers and HR to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly payroll processing including statutory and all payroll related payment remittance - Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy on a select range of transactional processes. - Building relationships with key stakeholders to identify and effect continuous improvement and service delivery excellence opportunities throughout Payroll function. - Review and identify processes and practices that can be streamlined or automated in the transactional environment. - Ensure the payroll team follow standard operating processes. - Ensure the operational manual is maintained and up to date. - Oversees and executes the long-term operations strategy, methodology and management of the Rest of Asia Payroll services - Develop policies and processes relative to the structure and operation of the Rest of Asia including India payroll team in a managed services environment. Qualifications/Requirements : - Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in leading a payroll team - Experience using Workday and Ramco (Preferred) - Extensive experience/expertise in implementing and managing payroll in an outsourced environment - Deep functional knowledge of Asia Pacific payroll environment is required - Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to confidently present complex information to all levels of the organization, and tailoring the content appropriately to the audience - Leader with initiative and drive who collaborates well in a virtual, team-oriented regional environment and builds strong effective working relationships - Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for understanding how the details fit or matter within existing processes - Self-starter who can make sound business decisions with little supervision - Commitment-minded and goal-oriented individual with a "will to win" mindset - 10 to 15% potential travel Additional desired characteristics : - Strong relationship management skills. - Interacts effectively and is able to influence at multiple levels in the organization - Excellent presentation and facilitation skills - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage change in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment - Excellent communication skills, strong consulting and negotiation skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
