We are at present having a senior position as Sr. General Manager - Corporate Affairs, South India for a leading AlcoBev company for Bangalore corporate office location.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE : The incumbent of this role will provide overall support on government relations by having influence within the regulatory and trading environments (bureaucracy and various state governments for the region). The role involves strategic and tactical decision making on government relations. He / She would be involved in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the various government departments like the Excise department, CMO and bureaucrats at a regional level.
Experience:
- >10 years experience in a Corporate relations role in a highly regulated environment
- Should have experience of working across the Corporate Relations agenda and handling a region (either North, South, East or West), best to have knowledge in South
- Experience of working in an organization which works across multiple states

- Evidence of directly building relationships with external bodies to achieve public policy wins
- Evidence of being a great people manage
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to influence teams and stakeholders
- Networking and be able cull out relevant information from maze of data /conversations
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Relationship Management:
- Become a trusted partner of state government and industry bodies in all alcohol policy matters
- Build and strengthen relationships with key government agencies ministries and organizations, relevant organizations from a corporate relations standpoint driving desired outcomes for the company
- Network with key functionaries in the Government like Commerce & Industry, Finance, Ministry of Food Processing, Health, Consumer Affairs (legal metrology) & Agriculture, FSSAI, Pollution Control Board
- Help in building a positive image of company in Industry Associations like CIABC, ISWAI, CII, FICCI etc, including providing inputs and direction to industry issues, policy development etc.
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders to promote cross-functional approach for achieving functional and business goals
Influencing and advisory responsibilities:
- Create opportunities in the current regulations and policy framework by unlocking trade and tax barriers, securing sensible and sustainable regulatory outcomes eg. securing higher pricing freedom, avoiding unreasonable excise duty hikes etc.
- Provide advisory to internal and external stakeholders and ensure proactive involvement in shaping and influencing government policies through strategic decision making to ensure commercial success and reputation enhancement
- Position company as Thought leader on AlcoBev policies within government, key regulators, Industry associations, Think tanks, NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Work with policy makers to leverage the Make in India initiative, Ease of Doing Business ranking etc
Risk and reputation:
- Mitigate impact of government regulations and changes eg. GST impact
- Secure approval for acceptance of Tax Rebate/refund mechanism through a business model change/ through price increase
- Ensure that all the activities of the business are undertaken with full adherence to the compliance framework and practice

- Can identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks
