Position Name:Senior General Manager _Accounting & Statutory Reporting

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The role is responsible for coordination and accuracy of financial statements as per the statutory requirements

Qualification: MBA Finance, CA
Experience:
- 12 years post qualification experience
- Experience of working in an India listed entity
Knowledge & skills:
- Strong knowledge of controls and accounts
- Experience in business partnering to senior executives demonstrating the ability and desire to provide pro-active, pragmatic advice in furtherance of the business agenda
- Demonstrated ability to navigate in finance environments where laws can be unclear and judicial system not always robust
- Previous experience in effectively and efficiently managing controls and accounts
- Excellent knowledge of Indian Accounting, Tax, labour and industrial law and its application to the Group
- Working closely with the other countries to mitigate risk and ensure uniformed and consistent advice

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :
1 Financial Statutory Reporting
- Responsible for timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting, supporting internal/external stakeholders (subsidiary and consolidated results)
- Maintain and improve financial control framework, group accounting policies and practices for adoption by all global businesses
- Responsible for co-leading monthly finance operations meetings and delivering critical information to all stakeholders
- Ensure adequate awareness across team and proactively identify and mitigate risks
- Responsible for proactively researching and analysing matters impacting corporate financial performance
- Responsible for preparation and review of monthly, quarterly & annual external returns for the group to external regulators.
- Manage relationship with audit firm by supporting all audit activities and responding to queries from clients, auditors and regulators
- Support all internal/external compliance activities
- Advise and update senior management committees and board on critical matters
2 Ensure Process Compliance
- Ensure accounting practices are followed basis rules and regulations
- Ensure adequate standards and controls are implemented and improved over time
- Oversee the reporting and filing of various reports and books of accounts into government or regulatory bodies in collaboration with other teams in finance
- Ensure high standard for compliance
- Work closely with government bodies and consultants to resolve all audits successfully
- Work closely with consultant partners to ensure closure of all investigations and audits
- Advise the business basis emerging business situations
- Monitor and report on compliance standards of the company
3 Governance & Compliance
- Drive the creation and implementation of effective governance, compliance and risk management frameworks across the Group to drive holistic performance and maintain reputation
- Ensure pro-active input into preventative actions to address key business risks
- Manage issues to mitigate impact and risk by early involvement
- Guide resolution of issues and proactively create an environment where risk is avoided
- Supervise the team ensuring risk mitigation & fit-for-purpose agreements and ensure that the right people with the right capabilities are in place to deliver the goals
- Cultivate talent in the team to create a engaged function, committed to personal growth and capability building, aligned and accountable for business performance (Must Dos) and demonstrating the behaviors in pursuit of enabling the Group's goals
- Champion the embedding of a compliance culture within the Group
