Americares India is a health-focused relief and development organization that responds to people affected by poverty or disaster with life changing health programs, medicine and medical supplies.   When disaster, poverty, disease, or policy causes health crises, they deliver medicines, medical supplies and humanitarian aid to a trusted network of NGOs, hospitals and health care providers across India serving vulnerable populations. They also create and support programs that increase health worker capacity, improve clinical quality and provide more access to healthcare for underprivileged populations across India.  Since 2006, Americares work has been characterized by compassion, expertise, quick response, and aid for people who need it. Their core programs include- Emergency Programs, Access to Medicine, Community Health and Clinical Services. Their program foot-print is across 27 states in India and over the past decade they have delivered aid worth more than INR 600 Mio through their various program initiatives.  For more information please log on to www.americaresindia.org  Reason for hire :  - Americares India Foundation aspires to scale-up its ongoing programs and widen the program outreach in the coming years. This will require for them to build their programmatic capacity by bringing on board a senior development and public health professional with diverse programmatic experience, to build the team further.  - The incumbent shall be responsible to develop and deliver a robust program strategy in line with the organizational strategic plan. She/he will lead a diverse team of professionals who are part of the program implementation teams and provide leadership, vision and inspiration to the associates and other departmental staff with an emphasis on creating team collaboration and cohesiveness.  Roles and responsibilities :   Core Program focused responsibilities:  - Design robust program strategy to scale up & widen program outreach   - Scan macro environment to capture core insights to design outcome driven, sustainable programs  - Lead program teams for effective program implementation and timely reporting  - Align & network with corporate and public funders  - Strengthen AmeriCares position as an industry thought leader  - Develop robust proposals and focused reporting   - Provide technical know- how for all health related aspects of programs.  General Administrative responsibilities:  - Guide & Supervise program staff in their day to day functioning   - Support program managers to set up SOPs and systems to develop impactful strategies  - Align work plan, budget and activities across all the programs undertaken by Americares  - Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications   - Oversee data management and evaluation/implementation of new technology  - Work in tandem with the resource acquisition team for donor engagement  Must Haves:  - Master of Public Health (MPH) with Medical degree (MBBS & Above) OR Master of Public Health (MPH) with base degree & proven track record of minimum 6-8 years leading program function in a midsize health focused organization.  - Minimum 12 years of programming experience in at least two mid-size organizations with Pan India presence including minimum 3 years of leadership experience.  - Should be familiar with Public Health Practices in India  - Should have experience of participating in a strategic planning process for the organization, building programmatic capacity and leading large team size of diverse configuration.  - Should be familiar with Public Health Practices in India.  Preferable:  - Preferably female candidate between 40-50 years of age.   Third Sector Partners, a leading senior management and board search firm for the social impact has been retained for this position.
