Purpose of the role:

The Hub / Site Head for Product Management is responsible for the overall Product Management practice in the organization. As such s/he covers the following roles:

- As a Product Management Leader, s/he develops / defines and drives the Product Vision and strategy of a given Product Line. S/he provides continuous feedback to the Product management teams and ensures that the teams follow the Product Vision. S/he brings and in-depth understanding of the industry, the Airlines' needs, market place and opportunities, competition and future trends as well as Product expertise. S/he builds close relationships with key stakeholders, and defines the business strategy for the Product Line (including the Make vs. Partner decision).

- As a seasoned Product Management practitioner and leader, s/he is responsible for carrying forward and expanding (what does this mean? establish standards, ensures that best practices are identified and..?) the Product Management practice in the organization to ensure proper practice development as a key counterpart to the Engineering Community.

- From a people management standpoint and in alignment with the SAFe operating model, s/he acts as the local counterpart of the Business Domain People Managers, by taking care of all the local aspects of the People Manager role, whilst ensuring strong coordination and alignment with the Business Domain People Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities :

UNDERSTAND MARKET AND CUSTOMERS :

- Identify customer needs (informs the product vision) with key input from sales, etc.

- Conduct research to understand customer behavior including how they are using existing solutions (informs the experience)

- Synthesize research into customer problem statements

- Prioritize problem statements based on overall solution narrative and potential impact

- Develop value proposition and key messages corresponding to problem statements, and articulate them into new product concepts or upgrades

DEVELOP PRODUCT STRATEGY :

- Lead product management (product strategy and functional product management) with direct link with R&D, establishing servicing, functional and operational quality standards.

- Product's strategic positioning and value for company and customers

- Set product goals and metrics that support enterprise goals/metrics

- Define high level product requirements (including for possible partner products managed)

- Define partner strategy and model (including selection criteria) and provide negotiations' input (e.g., redlines, functionality, targeted business model and financials) for Partnership model

- Drive decision making using the relevant financial and investment analysis, understanding industry trends and shifts to recognize future business opportunities, analyzing and understanding the impact of decisions taken and assuming responsibility of the outcomes.

- Ensure product strategy is aligned with commercial strategy and socialized with relevant stakeholders

- Regularly work to understand the role and function of all stakeholders (internal and external) to promote and ensure cross-business synergies; working to remove impediments and ensuring we are all working towards a common vision and set of objectives.
