Key responsibilities include :

- Manage 40+ people under engineering functions for Energy Management Systems

- Leader and owner for all New Product Hardware and Mechanical Engineering development

- Ability to work cross-functionally with Software, Systems, and Validation organizations to strengthen overall system understanding to the Hardware and Mechanical engineering teams.

- Focal point to the management in reporting day-to-day and weekly status of the organizations activities.

- Actively participate and/or lead early-stage product development activities and communicate expectations to ensure successful capture of Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, Installation & Service requirements.

- Ability to operate independently in decision making and information gathering.

- Well versed in technical decision-making related to system design, integration, or product operation.

- Must have a quality and safety mindset as the top priorities

- Able to effectively develop or modify engineering best practices and development processes. Ability to communicate changes and ensure compliance to methods developed.

- Ability to develop and review schedules for new product development from concept to launch: set milestones, assess & mitigate risks, develop action plans, coordinate activities and drive results within cross-functional teams.

- Deliver new products on-time, within budget, and at expected quality and reliability levels.

- Develop team members to operate independently to improve overall group efficiency.

- Collaborate with the cross-functional Engineering teams to solve technical problems and provide rapid prototyping support.

- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop efficient methods for assembling and testing products.

- Ability to assess team construction, bandwidth and competence and take action to lead hiring or adjust organizational assignments.

Minimum Qualifications :

- 15+ years of experience or more in New Product Development (NPD) roles

- Well versed in Hardware and Mechanical engineering development processes, tools and best practices

- Desire a candidate with deep experience in complex system development and integration

- In-depth experience in developing electronic products from concept to launch

- In-depth understanding of system architecture and system design principles

- Familiarity and experience with UL certification standards for electric consumer products (UL1741/IEEE1547, UL1973, UL9540A, UL2743, IEC62109, VDE/CEI-021, etc.)


- In-depth knowledge of NPD processes

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills

- Strong team worker within multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments

- Capable of clear, accurate and timely communication both written and verbal

Desired experience - the following will be an advantage :

- Understanding of solar, energy storage, micro-grid and renewable energy systems

- Experience in managing both Hardware engineering and Mechanical engineering organizations

- Experience with complex system integration and development

- Experience in complex lab environments and improving utilization and best practices for team efficiency

- Knowledge in Lithium-Ion based Energy storage systems, Battery management system
