We have been retained by one of the largest Product Development and Data processing Global organization to identify Senior Director - Application Development for leading their product development activities.
This is a hands-on leadership role with technical as well as managerial responsibilities. This role requires deep application development experience and product delivery experience in a well-known product company. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience managing teams of Development Managers, Architects and Product Owners.

Roles and responsibilities :
Technical responsibilities will include :
- Driving innovation within the team to provide solutions for the unmet needs of the product and conceptualizing, architecting, and delivering products by closely working with other stakeholders
- Lead, mentor and motivate team members to maximize their potential, to deliver high quality software and continually improve the development process
- Own, define and work with cross-functional teams to deliver key programs meeting organisations 's objectives and expectations
- Drive initiatives, process and approaches to improve quality, productivity and efficiency
- Management responsibilities include project management, process management, quality management, people management, talent acquisition, performance management, rewards planning activities and development of the team
- Be a student of current industry trends, ensuring that the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position
- Driving Engineering Excellence and Continuous Improvements
- Solid experience in delivering products in an Agile environment
- Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in budget planning and forecasting
Desired skills and experience :
Technical :
- B.E / B.Tech/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline with10+ years- product development experience within an R&D or new product development group
- Successful track record of delivering complex engineering projects combining development and test in an Agile environment
- Expertise in engineering/development/operations processes - Agile, CI/CD, Devops and major RDBMS platforms (MS SQL Server, Oracle, IBM)
- Knowledge of HCM Product Development would be a huge advantage
- Extensive experience in .NET technology stacks/ Open source with strong object oriented design knowledge and UX designing
- Large & complex systems software architecture, design and development experience
Management :
- Minimum 8 years of proven track record in people management with skills on talent acquisition, performance management, rewards planning activities and development of team; proven experience in leading, coaching and mentoring teams.
- Minimum 10 years of proven track record in project management that includes planning, tracking, managing priorities, setting expectations, process/risk/issue management and delivering commitments with focus on quality and process adherence
- Experience of working in an international team context in distributed projects
- Proven track record of delivering software in agile methods and techniques as well as continuous integration
Leadership :
- Strategic & Incisive thinking with decisiveness and strong perseverance
- Zeal for innovation and questioning the conventional thinking. Good industry knowledge on relevant technology
- Passion for building software products, obsess customers and high level of ownership
- Self driven, passionate and positive attitude during tough situations
