Role Purpose

- To lead, develop and manage the CTLA (Corporate Trust and Loan Agency) operations across the Corporate Banking's Service Centers, which supports the full range of Offshore Operations for the CTLA business, servicing Europe, US and Hong Kong

- To lead the Global Process Owner initiative within the bank's Security Services business for CTLA globally

- To implement changes and utilize the bank's global processing capability, to realize efficiency and cost benefits through creating and implementing standard operating models and processes for similar activities across all regions

- To lead a team of process owners (for different products in CTLA) and have responsibility to lead and drive implementation of the global target operating model / global process blue print both onshore and offshore and therefore requires seniority, gravitas and influencing skills to facilitate implementation at pace.

Principal Accountabilities

Impact on the Business/Function

- Management of CTLA global operation located across the Corporate Banking's Service Centers with >200 FTEs supporting business across multiple regions, time zones, annual cost base of cUSD5m.

- Execute business de-risking strategy to ensure compliance with Group contingency risk which will require operations to be established in x2 new locations

- Leadership and both direct / remote management of CTLA operation based across 3 different locations

- Accountable for delivery of migration, re-engineering and automation workstreams

- Key senior management role to represent CTLA global operations at CTLA Global ExCo, direct exposure working with Global Head, Regional Heads and COO of Business

Customers / Stakeholders

- Large global institutional clients to include pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, international central securities depositories and commercial banking customers

- Supporting single product line, multiple region, multiple jurisdiction

- Key stake holders include regional product teams, business partners, relationship managers and external customers and includes direct interaction with Relationship Managers in Commercial Banking / Global Banking as well other international banks

Leadership & Teamwork

- Leading the creation and execution of the derisking strategy

- Leading teams from multiple locations

- Working closely with the Global CTLA ExCo to implement the strategy for growth

- Work closely with other Heads within the bank's Security Services business / Corporate Banking's Service Centers

- Lead the business process design initiative for CTLA globally which requires implementation of TOM (Target Operating Model) and standard operating model design on an end to end basis

Operational Effectiveness & Control

- Implement a strong governance framework and robust control environment within the operation.

- Management of functions identified with high operational risk threshold through 'single event' control failure identified of cUSD10m based on 3-5 year data.

- Effective design and implementation of business continuity risk management to meet Group and business requirements

Required Professional Skills & Experience

- Extensive working experience in the financial services industry; with the majority of which is in an operations environment

- Knowledge of clients and products across range of securities services

- Stakeholder management with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations

- Extensive people management experience, having the experience managing remote teams

- Strong understanding of operational risk and control management

- Knowledge of loans, loans processing, loan administration, payment processing

- Strong background in leading streamlining / process reengineering initiatives and proven track reord in setting up team in new locations

- Multi-cultural background or experience, ability to work across broad range of cultures

- Strong analytical skills with change management experience

- Strong collaborative management skills with the various stakeholders

- Proven track record in leadership positions, decision making and managing difficult situations
