Job Description - Senior Data Scientist/Data scientist/Junior Data Scientist positions depending on years of experience.

The client is a well funded, aggressively growing startup with a unique and already successful business model.

Description - 

- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization (operations, marketing, dealer financing etc.) to identify opportunities for leveraging internal and external data to drive optimization and efficiencies in processes and product.

- Solving problems varying across (and not limited to) - 'car pricing' basis huge set of inputs (inspection data, documented attributes, derived variables), 'price elasticity modelling' for margin optimization, 'risk modelling' for dealer financing, practical application of 'game theory in auctioning', 'recommendation engine' for dealer-car purchase propensities, 'market mix modelling' to optimize customer acquisition etc.

- Involved in assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.

- Develop custom data models and algorithms and where applicable working closely with developers/product managers to inject the algorithms into production including gradual ramp up through series of A/B tests

- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance at scale (parallel A/B testing framework)

Profile

- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field

- Experience querying databases and using statistical languages: R, Python or SLQ

- Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.

- Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, unsupervised clustering, forecasting, decision trees (including random forest, boosted trees etc.), neural networks, etc.

- Expert level skills in visualizing/presenting data using advanced excel, periscope, D3, ggplot, shiny, plotly etc.

Dimensions of evaluation:

- Problem-solving: Solution design framework, ability to break down the problem.
