Our client is a leading management consulting firm and they are looking at hiring an experienced data engineering professional for more advanced data processing and Analytics.

Job Description

Reporting into the Data Analytics Lead, you will be responsible for:

- Working on database design and development, data integration and ingestion, designing ETL architectures using a variety of ETL tools and techniques

- Agreeing and developing data exchange and data ingestion plans with client IT/Data/IS stakeholders, acting as point of contact for client's data owners

- Acquiring, ingesting, and processing data from multiple sources and systems into Big Data platforms

- Helping DE lead on data quality assessments and developing reports on client data systems

- Preparing data for analysis: profiling, cleaning, joining, transforming, aggregating, and filtering large and varied data sets

- Supporting Data Scientists by creating views, queries, data extracts, variables, and features to help their analysis

- Maintaining Information Security standards on the engagement in regards to data exchange, storage, and processing

- Working across different environments SQL, Big Data Stack (Hadoop, Spark etc.) and cloud platforms

- Creating reusable custom scripts, queries, and code commands

The Successful Applicant

As a successful applicant you should have:

- Expert level proficiency in SQL and multiple database technologies (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSql, My SQL)

- Strong development background in more than one scripting, object oriented or functional programming language e.g., Python, Java, C#, Scala

- Strong Data Warehousing experience, building operational ETL / ELT pipelines comprised of several sources, and architecting Data Models/Layers for Analytics

- Working knowledge on at least some big data stack (Spark, Hadoop, Hive etc)

- Experience in working with data to extract interesting insights

- Good communication skills and ability to effective communicate technical aspect in easy to understand way
