Senior Data Analyst - Retail - Global Multibrand Apparel Firm

Looking for a Sr. Database Analyst, to be part of a global mutibrand apparel company. Individual contributor role and part of a global team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

- Analyze large sets of data to distill key insights that should influence strategic decisions made in key product categories, customer experiences or business channels.

- Communicate analytical findings by documenting a way to visualize the insight and / or through verbal communication.

- Perform both scheduled and ad-hoc analysis to identify and size emerging opportunities.

- Collaborate with other team members to determine the most accurate, most compelling approach to analytical challenges.

- Make actionable recommendations based on the interpretation of customer data

Experience:

- Three to five years prior work experience in a database analysis role, ideally within the retail, consumer insights, or a related quantitative field - retail or apparel experience is strongly preferred

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field

Skills:

- Strong Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and PowerPoint skills

- Strong SQL experience required

- Data visualization with a tool like Tableau preferred, but not required

- Proven ability to execute on common customer analytics needs within a transactional, relational database

- Comfortable in a rapid response mode where information or answers are sourced from a database in a timely and thoughtful manner

- Experience with R or Python is a plus

- Strong analytical abilities, demonstrated critical thinking skills

- Ability to identify anomalies in data and to bring attention to leadership to ensure high-quality analytics

- Self-motivated and resourceful, positive and solution-oriented

- Understanding of business financials, ROI and profitability

- Strong communication skills; ability to discuss complex information in an easy-to-understand manner with clear recommendations based on data

- Team player; ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and team members in a proactive manner

- Willingness to learn

- Adapts easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities

- Comfortable being part of a team that spans different time zones and locations
