Hiring for the role of : Senior Compliance Officer, WPB, GSC's

Location (Country / City ): Bangalore

What you'll do:

- Managing regulatory change requirements by preparing gap analysis template on new / revised regulations and new / revised Compliance policies. Disseminate gap analysis template to relevant business / stakeholders for completion and track for completion. Ensure all requirements have a corresponding response and processes / controls in place. Where there are gaps, monitor timeline of the action items and follow up with 1LOD to ensure completion of action items and closure of the gaps.

- Managing and maintaining records across the various Compliance and Risk reporting tools and systems such as HELIOS, RAPID2, and IRIS among others. This includes ensuring data are correctly mapped and reconciled across the reporting tools / systems.

- Support local onshore WPB Compliance Advisory team to collate information for regular and ad-hoc reports such as input into local RMM and WPB RMF pack, Compliance Manco report, Monthly Conduct Activity Report, quarterly updates for the Annual Compliance Plan, etc. for submission to local and regional stakeholders (i.e. local Regulatory Conduct team, local RSOG, Regional and/or Group WPB Compliance) as applicable.

- Support the Head of WPB Compliance Advisory in discharging NFRO obligations. This include assist in extracting reports from HELIOS, reviewing MI and exception reports such as RSAT report and DQ metrics, reviewing and identifying appropriate trigger events for read across exercise with 1LoD and 2LoD Risk Stewards within RC and FCC. Perform first level review and highlight issues or exceptions for further review / escalation by onshore team. Follow up with the respective stakeholders to obtain responses and compile the information for onshore team review.

- Perform QA checks on marketing materials to ensure that Low and Medium Risks items are per the checklist/ guidance provided. Ensure High and Medium risks with exceptions marketing materials are escalated accordingly to the local WPB Compliance Advisory team.

- Support the local WPB Compliance Advisory team to prepare MI, collate documents and coordinate information requests by auditors / BNM / internal stakeholders, as and when required.

- Attend to queries on Outside Activities (OA), if any. Liaison officer with GPAD GSC team on Personal Account dealing matters for e.g. maintenance of Employee of Registered Person (ERP) list and escalate to the Head of WPB Compliance Advisory of any matters requiring decision making.

- Support the Head of WPB Compliance Advisory in disseminating information to 1LoD as and when required for e.g. embargo / dealing restriction notices, etc.

- Support the local WPB Compliance Advisory team to administer and conduct Compliance training to 1LOD. Activities include planning, organizing, tracking attendance, obtain and evaluate feedback and update the training plans. Training topics include but not limited to Compliance Induction to new joiners, product transparency and disclosure requirements including marketing materials, and any other topics related to Global Compliance Policies subject to the demand and needs of business / stakeholders.

Qualifications - External:

What you will need to succeed in the role:

- Degree or equivalent professional qualification/ background in Compliance, Risk Management (including Operational Risk), Audit or Assurance, Legal, or Accountancy discipline.

- Ability to comprehend the regulatory landscape in Malaysia, understand regulatory requirements and expectations and apply them together with Group Standards.

- Detail-oriented, good analytical skills and have a solid understanding on governance, risk management and control framework, financial crime and regulatory compliance risks.

- Self-driven, enthusiastic, independent, proactive, ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver under pressure against multiple deadlines.

- Excellent time management. Proven quick learning capability and ability to adapt in a changing environment and reprioritize tasks is essential for this role.

- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with experience in dealing with all working levels.

- A team player and able to work collaboratively within onshore Compliance Advisory team.

- Possess good judgment in assessing and escalating issues requiring decision-making to the onshore Compliance Advisory team.

- Possess strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance Risk Taxonomies and Control Library. (applicable for internal candidate)

- High level of professional and personal integrity

- Committed to personal and professional development.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

What additional skills will be good to have?

Highly Desirable:

- Understanding of the different lines and sub-lines of Business.

- Familiar with key regulatory compliance requirements and AML, Sanctions, AB&C, Fraud and Tax Transparency issues impacting (WPB) business.

Advantageous:

- Good technical knowledge, experience in relation to Compliance systems and processes is an added advantage.

- Good knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, power point)
