Job Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of litigation matters, with a focus on Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
- Conduct legal research and analysis, prepare legal opinions, and advise clients on legal strategies and potential outcomes.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, petitions, motions, briefs, and appeals.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations, effectively presenting arguments and advocating on their behalf.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, to ensure seamless coordination and preparation for litigation cases.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress, advising on risks and potential resolutions, and addressing their concerns.
- Manage and mentor junior associates, providing guidance, feedback, and support in their professional development.
- Stay updated with the latest legal developments, regulations, and precedents related to Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
- Attend relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge and contribute to professional growth.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify new opportunities and generate business leads for the firm's litigation practice.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a reputable institution. A Master's degree (LLM) will be an advantage
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a focus on Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
- Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures related to debt recovery and company law
- Proven track record of successfully handling and managing complex litigation cases independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide effective legal advice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal arguments and complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring and supervising junior associates.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
