Sr analyst Business Analytic in a Leading Bank

To be an expert across multiple disciplines (eg-different dimensions of risk, marketing, fraud, collections etc), display a sound knowledge of varied statistical and quantitative techniques (modelling, segmentation etc) and deliver high quality insightful analysis to the client

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (List the expected end results that must be achieved in order to fulfill your job purpose and the activities that help in achieving these results.)

EXPECTED END RESULTS MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

1. Cost/ Growth - Contribute towards productivity improvement which will result in a cost benefit

2. Customer/ Stakeholder - Complete accountability for quality and timely delivery of business priorities for self

- Ability to manage the expectations of the stakeholders within the constraints of the business

- Anticipates customer needs

- Support leadership team in provision of effective communication

- Develop presentations and other forms of final deliverables and communicate to stakeholders to relate complex concepts, information, and results in a way that can be easily understood and integrated into the business.

3. Process Delivery - Is able to provide thought leadership across multiple domains and deploy varied statistical and quantitative techniques

- Be perceived as the go-to-person within the team for end-to-end domain expertise in the multiple areas that the person is expert

- Ability to identify problem areas proactively and plan a solution

- Advocates and drives insight to action, through a holistic understanding of the client and customer strategy

- Complete accountability for quality and timely delivery of business priorities for self

- Manage new migrations as per the new control procedures

4. Process Improvement/ Re-engineering - Identifies internal projects impact within/across teams that drive efficiency and sustainable growth

- Develop team's understanding of assigned client base and consistently participate & encourages best practice sharing either on project or on solutions basis

- Is proactive in contributing to R&D and in suggestion and evaluation of possible ways forward with a knowledge of best practices and comparison of risks and benefits involved

5. Risk & Control - Ensure that team complies with:

a) QA Process

b) AYIC / ACE testing

c) GPL

d) Learning and development processes

- Review & assess you and your team's systems/documentation housekeeping on a regular basis.

- Raise with the business when processes owed by others in the business need to be improved

- Identify and escalate potential risks

6. People - As a SME on various domains, provide relevant analytical assistance to junior members of the team

- Participates in full range of hiring and other talent development activities

- Proactively volunteers & contributes across talent development initiatives

- Identify training gaps and lead training initiatives

4. MAJOR CHALLENGES (Describe the major challenges you face in carrying out your job, and what you do in order to overcome them.)

- Interactions with counterparts in other geographies, hence less than a 100% overlap in work hours

- Ability to balance work against other organisational / people centred initiatives

5. KEY DECISIONS (Describe 1 or 2 typical decisions you have to make, in the course of your job.)

- Work allocation amongst team members bearing in mind people's capabilities, skill sets and bandwidth to ensure personal and professional growth

- Assessing and recognizing subordinates appropriately

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 5 years - 7.5 years
