Job Description: Senior Account Director/Account Director

Location: Bangalore

Exp: 12 -18 years

Reporting Relationships:

Reporting to: Group Head/Vice-President

Reporting levels: Account Manager, Account Executive

Key areas of function: The Account Director is the Head of a unit within a SBU (Strategic Business Unit) and is the custodian for building and retaining client relationships. The individual is responsible for drawing/leading effective communication plans for all clients. S/he is accountable for all client servicing initiatives and ensures consistent service delivery to all clients, while managing overall profitability of the client-relationship in the PR consultancy.

The Account Director will simultaneously guide and oversee the day-to-day work of the Account Manager, and actively assist the Group Head/Vice-President in new business development.

The candidate should have a proven ability in managing teams, servicing large clients as well as counselling corporate CXOs. S/he should also have proven relationships with senior Editors and new-age influencers. Skills such as excellent written/oral communications, active listening, persuasion and negotiation are prerequisites for this position.

Client Servicing:

- Manage client relationships at operational and CXO levels

- Lead drawing up presenting plans - month/quarter/annual, key messages, reviews

- Plan/implement campaigns and large/complex events

- Ensure timely collection of client fees

Media Relations

- Build/improve relationship with senior journalists and influencers across the country

- Oversee development and maintenance of a national media universe for all clients

- Ensure proper dissemination, follow-up, and output of all media/social media activities

- Help Account Managers track upcoming news stories and proactive pitching for placement of clients- messages

- Oversee preparation of media pitches, approve all communication to media

- Guide teams in maximising media placement opportunities

- Leading all senior media contact programmes

- Keep track of campaigns by competition

Business Management

- Assist Team Leader in overall servicing cost management of client portfolio

- Help Team Leader in collection of client fees/outstanding

- Support Team Leader in client retention, improve Client Satisfaction Score

- Actively generate new business leads, prepare NBD pitch preparations

Team Management

- Assist/guide AM/AEs on all aspects of work

- Provide continuous feedback to AM/AEs for professional improvement

- Help Vice-President/Group Head resolve interpersonal conflicts within teams/locations

- Promote apolitical work environment.

Job Dimensions

- Annual retainer billing value: Rs 180-360 lakh

- Average number of clients serviced: 6-12

- Number of people directly/indirectly supervised: 5-10

Educational Qualification

- Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations/Journalism from a reputed institute

- for MBA - Marketing

- Experience working in a PR company is preferred
