The role requires to help structure, negotiate and place employee benefit policies for clients. You would work with the sales team to understand client requirements, assess fair pricing, and negotiate with insurers to deliver the product. Products would include group health insurance, group personal accident, and group term life.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbents would be focused on the Employee Benefits domain. Within this area they would be responsible for the following broad functions:
- Work with the business development team to understand the requirements of a client
- Assess existing policies, if any, of a client to understand coverage gaps. Use past claims utilization experience to recommend a fair price for the policy.
- Use the SecureNow bidding platform to float RFP to various insurers and invite quotes
- Formulate a strategy to present the case to insurers including identifying outlier claims, long-term utilization trends, and benchmark with rates offered for similar groups
- Negotiate prices and terms with insurers to offer the most cost-effective solutions to client
- Evaluate competition intensity, in case of multiple brokers advising a client, and work with preferred insurers to seek the best deal for the client
- Design a fresh product structure, in case the client is buying insurance for the first time.
- Leverage exclusive SecureNow raters to offer ready reckoner pricing to clients
- Place the policy with the selected insurer, and quality check the policy copy issued by the insurer
- Stay informed about the pricing approach of various insurers and current market pricing trends
CANDIDATE BACKGROUND:
- Graduate / Post Graduate with 1 to 5 years of experience
- Experience in underwriting for group policies in an insurer or broker
- Understanding of group health insurance policies, is a must
DESIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of data management in excel. Comfort in using macros, pivots, filters and other data management techniques.
- Highly disciplined about maintaining TAT, and deliver on set SLA with clients. Strong deadline orientation.
- Strong detail orientation to ensure adherence to SOPs and maintain quality control
- Ability to work and coordinate with multiple stakeholders i.e., clients, sales managers, and insurers
- Aptitude and interest to work in high competitive intensity situations
