Role Description :
The sector specialist will provide research support to the investment professionals specifically with regards to corporate governance & forensic accounting research. Initially the focus for the sector specialist will be companies within the emerging market countries.
When analysing a company, the sector specialist would be expected to carry out very detailed research in the following areas:
- History and structure of the company
- Board structure
- Company management
- Shareholder transactions
- Accounting/Audit
- Legal and regulatory practices
- The sector specialist will use a variety of methods and research tools to gather data.
- He / she will work closely with both internal colleagues and external source
Candidate Description :
The candidate should be an independent thinker with the ability to effectively articulate his/her research analysis and have demonstrated experience and interest in forensic accounting and corporate governance research
- An excellent working knowledge of accounting practices & corporate governance best practices
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills
- The role requires frequent use of concepts in accounting, economics, financial markets, financial statement analysis, and industry analysis.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills
- Collecting, analyzing and presenting data relevant to the research problem at hand is a core skill.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills and be able to clearly articulate research findings
- The ability to work with external information sources (analysts, companies, consultants)
Qualification :
- CA/CPA. Additional qualification of MBA or CFA is desirable.
- Ideally a 4-6 years of forensic accounting/financial due-diligence/corporate governance research experience
