Section Head - Gravitational Die Costing - Manufacturing Plant

Leading Manufacturing Facility is looking for Section Head - GDC (Gravitational DIe Costing) Die Design for their plant located in Chennai

Position: Section Head - GDC (Gravitational DIe Costing) Die Design

Year Experience : Min 15 years in any of the Auto Ancillary in casting light alloys

Educational Qualification: Graduate / Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Engineering

Age Not more than 45 years

Purpose of the Tittle :

- Design GDC dies meeting global standards & customer expectations

- Improve the capability of SCL engineers to design and develop dies meeting global QDC targets

Role and Descrition :

- Establish the process of converting customer requirements into design specifications

- Establish guidelines for die design and die development

- Plan for die design, development and sample approval along with NPD program managers

- Monitor progress as per plan / adherence to standards and targets

- Conduct stage gate reviews to ensure adherence to customer requirements and standards

- Establish process for proving the dies

- Monitor product quality and process scrap / ease of operation and guide on corrective actions

- Ensure ramp up quality of dies and improve die life

- Establish guidelines for maintaining the dies in brand new condition along with Die maintenance expert

- Review existing die designs and identify opportunities for VA / VE

- Develop training content for die design, die development and die proving and die maintenance

- Train SCL engineers and hand hold them in their respective areas for projects (NPD or VA/VE)

Requirements  

- Expert in die design and die casting process, with a minimum of 15 years experience in casting light alloys. A college degree / Post diploma in engineering Mechanical or Tool engineering or manufacturing is required.

- Should have attended train the trainer programs and possess relevant industry certifications relating to die design, and die casting process
