Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the field operations and assuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Position may involve after hours or weekend work when required. Coordinating the relationships among our customers, field employees and internal Schneider suppliers is a primary role. The position includes long term resource planning as well as short term problem solving. Among the goals for the Operations Manager are: greater productivity by the field service operations, controlled operating costs, with a defined set of KPIs: greater percentage of invoiced total hours available, higher first time fix rates (FTFR), higher first time start up rates, reduced overtime, greater customer satisfaction and improved employee satisfaction. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing Schneider Electric customers to identify the scope of work and generate business leads for the sales teams.

For countries with less than 50 Headcount in service delivery, the Operations Manager will be also responsible for the Health & Safety activity for Operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Is responsible for the quality and the profitability of the Operations delivery to customers

- Understands the basic fundamentals of transportation and optimal mode selection

- Performs general cost analysis to evaluate various transport plan options

- Knowledge of how transportation impacts the performance of the supply chain

- Awareness of issues that can impact transport plans which involve an international border

- Aligns transportation strategies with Corporate strategic objectives for customer satisfaction, service and cost

- Leads and guides performance of transportation network to achieve best in class results

- Leads and/or participates in skills networks to drive organizational growth and logistics initiatives

- Evaluates problems with inventory, delivery and/or sales orders

- Understands ERP systems and develops reports and processes for material management analysis

- Understands activities such as receiving, shipping, production output, order requirement and business plan

- Utilizes logistics flow design as a competitive advantage and a tool to drive customer satisfaction

- Benchmarks Schneider Electric flow design through industry contacts and leverages new techniques that add value and efficiency

- Knowledge in Warehouse management systems

- Understands all warehouse functions and their relationship to each other

- Assesses current state relative to KPIs and initiates actions for performance enhancements

- Leads facility change initiatives to drive obtainment of operational quality, costs, productivity and/or service levels

- Leads and guides performance toward logistics- best in class performance

- Champions logistics excellence through customer focused performance

- Develops and standardizes processes to ensure proper utilization of resources

- Manages the planning and coordination of the interventions

- Manages the Technical Support

- Manages the Field Service Representatives (directly or indirectly through regional managers) according to the number of people

- Ensures compliance with I2P quality process for any severe customer issue and/or recall/FSB coming from BU

- Ensures that operational, maintenance, emergency and safety procedures are developed and strictly followed

- Analyses and reports on field service performance (margin, utilization rate, - )

- Daily activities include oversight of field operations to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the operational expectation of our customers.

- Supervises project management activities for all large projects in the assigned area

- Ensures efficient and regular communications between the teams. Tight coordination is required.

- Mentors, manages and develops the FSRs in their charge to maximize Schneider Electric business opportunities and the career opportunities of the FSRs.

- Ensures that each FSR is complying with all administration processes such as reporting in payroll time keeping, field service reporting, etc.

- Drives the Service KPIs as defined by management to maximize Service goals. Uses the KPIs to identify weaknesses in the Service delivery and takes appropriate actions as needed.

- Participates with Sales in the review of all RFQ and bid specification for required Service.

- Develops and maintains an ongoing professional relationship with new or existing SE customers

- Participates in sales budgeting and overall initiatives

- Provides resource plan every year to the FS VP to accompany the FS Sales growth, per geography and skills.

- Maintains documentation for assigned tasks (ERP/CRM)

Education:

The successful candidate should have at least masters/Bachelors in engineering degree in applied electricity, electronics / industrial sciences or mechanical systems, with five years- experience in Operations and 2 years leadership experience.

Strong and confident management style with solid written and verbal skills needed.

Manager must be able to act independently with good judgment and self starting initiative. The leader will have also to take immediate decisions keeping self control when dealing with crisis, always putting personal safety as a first priority.
