The role of COO/Business Head for Automotive Textiles Business is to provide strategic and operational leadership, deliver the top-line and bottom-line targets of the Company, develop the operational strategy and drive manufacturing excellence across. He will ensure that financial and non-financial targets are achieved in a timely manner and that the business performance is aligned to the overall objectives of the Group. He will also create a culture of happiness and positivity within the Company and the group as a whole in order to sustain growth and performance.
Below are a few pointers:-
- Develop and monitor budget at the Company level. Take course corrections where required.
- Lead the process for the preparation of business plans and budgets.
- Meet stakeholder expectations on revenues, PBT, return on capital and other key financial metrics. Maximize PBT by maintaining a balance between short term and long term needs of the business.
- Oversee timely execution of the operation plan; conduct periodic review meetings across the business and with the top management, identify deviations and undertakes course corrective initiatives.
- Identify cost-saving initiatives and sets appropriate targets for the business.
- Recognize the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the business and develop plans that are flexible to the changing business environment.
- Monitor the external environment and market changes and developments to identify key strategic areas and business growth opportunities.
- Interact regularly and builds relationships with customers to ensure their expectations are being met and exceeded.
- Monitor customer feedback, ratings and scores and ensure timely corrective action is taken to address any issues.
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities to introduce new products, or undertake new projects with customers. Find ways to maintain or improve the share of the business.
- Collaborate/ support corporate functions for developing systems/ policies
- Ensure the implementation of corporate policies with no deviation
- Develop internal mechanisms within SBU to measure the effectiveness of systems and policies through periodic audits (using standard checklists)
- Develop strong employee connect mechanisms and use the same to provide feedback to the corporate on the effectiveness of policies and systems.
- Ensure that the overall functioning of the SBU is in line with the relevant legal and government requirements and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory rules and regulations in conjunction with Corporate HR/ IR
- Ensure timely preparation and release of various financial reports by building strong accounting processes.
- Recruit the right talent within the SBU and develop them through structured coaching initiatives
- Support and guide focused training, knowledge management initiatives and exposure to best practices
- Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance and recommend appropriate rewards and recognition
- Review performance management, reward and recognition and career & succession planning decisions at an SBU wide level
- Drive organization and culture-building initiatives and support a cascade of values/ desired behaviors across the organization to enable happiness and positivity
