Job Description: Manager - Finance & Operations, SBICAP Ventures Ltd

Background:

SBICAP Ventures Ltd (- SVL- ), a wholly owned subsidiary of SBI Capital Markets Ltd., is a private equity asset management company. It currently acts as the investment manager to the Neev Fund. Neev Fund is a SEBI registered Category I Infrastructure AIF and had its initial close in April 2015 with a corpus of c. INR 470 crores. It seeks to make equity & equity like investments in infrastructure and related companies and assets.

Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting into the CEO-Neev Fund, the person shall be solely responsible for the day-to-day financial, administrative, operations and back-office affairs of SVL and the Neev Fund. The person will assume a hands-on approach to a variety of activities in the areas that include accounting / finance / cash flow forecasting, billing and collections, contracting with third parties, human resources, operations, information technology and compliance.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Fund Administration:

- Undertake quarterly Fund IRR and NAV computation, Fund cash flow updation at a gross and net level

- Prepare quarterly and annual investor reports in coordination with the investment team

- Undertake creation, updation and ensure integrity of all material required in investor marketing and communication material

- Assist in preparing responses to investor queries and any other investor matters that may arise

- Prepare and ensure timely & correct delivery of all Fund regulatory reporting such as to SEBI, RBI Assist the team with engagement of external consultants for deal diligence

Finance / Accounting / Revenue Management:

- Oversee billing and collections. Use innovation and discipline to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, cash application and collections activity

- Oversee cash management, with particular attention to A/R, A/P

- Budget, forecast, and track financial performance

- Produce monthly financial statements, and quarterly or any other frequency as may be required for the Board

- Proactively evaluate key business drivers of growth, profitability, and productivity

- Ensure timely filing of all tax matters including liaising with service providers

- Responsible for coordinating and managing all outsourced vendors of SVL such as for finance & accounts, company secretarial, IT, premises, insurance, housekeeping etc.

- Oversee the payroll process undertaken by an outsourced vendor

- Manage the annual audit process and auditor relationships including with internal auditors, statutory auditors & CAG auditors

- Manage relationships with the Company's bankers, trustees etc, and ensure compliance with their various reporting requirements

- Responsible for preparation and management of all internal (SBI group) reporting

Administrative / Operations / Others:

- Oversee human resources and perform various HR functions as needed

- Assume responsibility for the Company's information technology, evaluating capabilities, and implementing improvements as needed

- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, programs, statutory compliances and government regulations

- Assist in assessing growth initiatives and/or innovative business arrangements including working on new fund initiatives, marketing of these etc

- Contribute to strategic planning by interpreting financial data, highlighting problems and opportunities, and developing innovative ways to measure performance

- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders including with SBI and SBI Caps on various matters

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting/ commerce/ finance / business administration and a qualified Chartered Accountant. A legal or CS qualification would be a plus

- 8+ years relevant experience with extensive accounting/finance background with at least 2 years- experience in a private equity finance team.

- Capable of being in a responsible, leadership position

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Strength in reading and understanding legal documents and a strong knowledge of tax and compliance matters and finance systems and processes

- Demonstrable experience of delivering to internal and external clients and an understanding of good customer service

- Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities

- Ability to demonstrate maturity and sensitivity around confidential information
