1. JOB PURPOSE:

Business Development Manager is an individual who has to focus mainly on to strategic marketing and sales, and to direct the activities of the division to ensure the achievement of respective sales targets and business plans which will require the full attention of a diligent and experienced Business Development Manager.

2. JOB BRIEF: The Business Development Manager will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. They will be responsible for generating interest, qualifying prospects and directly closing sales. They will also be accountable for the maintenance of client relationship, issue resolution and the overall development of expanded business opportunities for the brands.

3. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: He would be reporting to the Head Representation Services - Air & Chief Strategy Officer.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for managing all operational commercial activities and solutions including: contract document management, contract performance management, contract change management, contract growth/scope management, contract negotiations.

- Lead strategic account development plans to maximize development and growth opportunities for the GSA vertical.

- Build strategic relationships with key stake holders in the aviation industry.

- Develop and implement the sales and market strategies to increase existing business and market share in consultation with the Sales Managers & team members of respective airlines.

- Responsible for making commercial contracts, agreements and activities within the Aviation Industry.

- Monitor and analyse individual airline sales figures and trends, investigate reasons for changes and disseminate information to all stakeholders making recommendations and ensuring corrective actions.

- Work independently in the absence of supervision.

- Develop and implement sales procedures and policies in line with the industry best practices. Set up sales call plans, daily, weekly & monthly reporting mechanisms and ensure that the appropriate selling skills are suitably employed.

- Manage the territory budget preparation process, to ensure the sales and revenue opportunities are maximized.

- Determine the growth opportunities to ensure an effective sales and market coverage.

5. KEY CHALLENGES: Decision making, lead generation, Negotiations, Market Understanding

Internal - Africa Branches in Satguru Group, CSO, COO, HR, Stake holders, Business Head

External - Airlines.

8. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

A. Educational Qualifications :

Any bachelor's degree.

B. In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations:

- Airline industry & destination knowledge (from an airline perspective) is a must.

- Must have experience in sales (atleast 10 years)

- A firm understanding of airline sales practices & GSA operations a major advantage.

- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual.

- Commercially astute with a proven record of consistent achievement of KPI's and sales targets.

- 15+ years of direct airline or GSA experience in a similar profile.

- Strong Negotiation skills.

- Excellent skill in writing, spoken English, preparing presentations & knowledge of using excel is a must.
