The role drives new product innovation/acquisition/licensing opportunities in key areas as agreed in the INDIA growth model. He /She will be responsible for identifying, defining and driving the early/mid-stage development of new products either in a house or through outside vendors that will create business growth, profitability and improved brand equity across brands for CHC India. He /She will also be continuously working towards identifying &amp; assessing external acquisition/licensing/white space entry opportunities. The incumbent needs to work in close consultation with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Consumer &amp; Market Insights (CMI), Regulatory &amp; Medical Affairs, Industrial Development and Global/Regional teams, as well as key external stakeholders, the role will help formulate and execute the 1-5 year innovation / white space/acquisition roadmap, create business cases for assessment through the stage-gate process and provide support to the marketing team for life cycle management of existing products. Key responsibilities : Lead innovation strategy and planning : - Support the development of strategic roadmaps which will guide idea development and prioritization. In collaboration with category managers, ensure that innovation pipeline is planned out for 1-5 years across all key categories and brands, both domestic and CBEC channels - Where appropriate, support category manager's ideation activities and where appropriate, participate in external KOL and advisor networking activities. Contribute commercially and strategically sound input that will guide decision-making with regards to which new products enter the pipeline. - Proactively seek and identify compelling consumer insights, market trends, and trends in international and domestic markets that help develop and guide our innovation strategy. - Lead local CHC product Scouting / Acquisition /Innovation for sustainable growth of key brands as per India Growth strategy - Lead new product ideation / workshop for NPD / white space entry - Exploring product sourcing options - New formulation/ingredient proposal - Formulation / Packaging development - Competitor product analysis / Monitoring market trend - Lead EPD (existing product development) and commercialization (from idea to commercialization) - Regional / global innovation collaboration for developing robust local innovation roadmap - Lead 3rd party partnership management for optimizing contracts/deals - Lead external CMO management for NPD development &amp; related profitability gain - Support in driving the learning agenda for Innovation with the broader marketing team - Support in driving Big bet projects through early/mid-development stages - Creation of project definition and business cases, according to the agreed strategies, for assessment through the stage-gate process, achieving defined targets of Gate 1 and 2 approvals within timeframes. - Manage multiple product management projects end to end, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget. - Effective and appropriate engagement of category managers, medical, supply, CMI, regulatory teams during feasibility, stage 0 and stage 1, resulting in clear brand commitment beyond Gate 2. - Effective engagement with regional and global stakeholders in the development phase of NPDs, including reformulation, external manufacturer engagement, regulatory assessment etc. - Manage relationships with research, design, medical marketing, and other external agencies - All innovation project forecasts to meet hurdle rates set by the business, in particular, net sales, profit and incremental impact, in conjunction with category managers. Measure actual vs. forecast assumptions and report learnings.
