ROLE DESCRIPTION : Role Title : Category Lead - Vitamins & Mineral Supplements (VMS) Supervisor Title Head - Marketing, CHC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE - - To lead the marketing function for the Vitamins & Mineral Supplements (VMS) category by guiding formulation of innovative Marketing plans for the VMS portfolio of Sanofi with an overall marketing plan in order to drive market share, top line and bottom line so as to enable achievement of objectives - To create a strategy for the portfolio of brands that (s)he manages including growth projections, investment levels for each brand based on growth potential (short and medium term) and fit to country and global growth model. - To drive the development of deep consumer / category / HCP / competitive insights related to the category and use these to grow the portfolio. - Develop communication strategy to build brand loyalty and recall to fulfill the business objectives of sales and growth for all the brands in the category. People - To allocate people on the brands within their portfolio in alignment with the Marketing Director - To create a work environment within his/ her perimeter wherein the team works well together with each other and with other teams - Facilitate execution of marketing plans and product launches through product training and KPI information dissemination to the field force in collaboration with Business Excellence 2. Financial - Develop, allocate and utilize A&P budget periodically by allocating product wise resources and monitoring and reviewing resource allocation in alignment with the Marketing Director - Design robust Marketing Plans to achieve the market share and profit objectives by planning, monitoring and reviewing product wise marketing initiatives and assisting the development of the Sales and Marketing plan for the business unit - To work with Trade Marketing, OTX Team and IA to find ways of growing Margin - To proactively and consistently measure the impact of Marketing activities and to take appropriate actions based on this. 3. Process - Portfolio Mix Maintenance - Review brand wise top-line/ bottom-line and ensure the desired portfolio wise revenue mix - Promotional Campaign Planning - Lead development of promotional plans and product campaigns (ATL and BTL) in order to achieve the target market share and sales. Align and update Corporate/Regional Stakeholders from time to time - Campaign Execution - Lead and co-ordinate the design and execution of innovative communication for Mass Media/ Pharmacist detailing /Doctor detailing. Align with and execute all BTL Campaigns through Trade Marketing Team and Trade Sales Team. - Market Intelligence / Consumer Insights - Maintain a deep knowledge of the market trends, consumer insights related to the category as well as competitor actions and their impact and how this will impact his / her category. - New Product Introduction - Analyze market research for qualitative or quantitative parameters to identify opportunities in product portfolio and profitability, by creating a business case and recommending new products, seeking approvals and assisting in product launch in order to expand the product portfolio, market share & profits for the business unit - Product Life Cycle Management - Collaborate with stakeholders for introducing brand / line extensions in order to extend product life cycle - Knowledge Management - Lead Category Understanding for the Organization, going beyond existing products, and into the VMS Management process of the consumer's life. Keep track of international VMS Market, to ideate for innovation and new positioning platforms ROLE HOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - Minimum Educational Qualification - Graduate degree, Masters degree in Business Administration with Marketing Specialization Relevant Work Experience: - Minimum years of experience - A total experience of 8 to 10 years in Sales & Marketing. - Candidates having strong marketing experience of 4 to 5 years within FMCG/ OTC and experience in regulated categories would be preferred. - Previous experience in managing brands would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite. Preferred industry experience - Pharmaceuticals / FMCG / OTC Functional Knowledge Required - Working Knowledge of the Medical and Regulatory Affairs - Knowledge of the latest trends in Marketing - Functional Marketing skills especially Strategy and Communication development.
