KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS - Institution of Mechanical Engineers  - Manage the delivery & outcomes of the India membership Acquisition project.  - Achieve targets and key performance indicators as defined by the Consulting Director India, in line with the Institutions International strategy and overall business plan.  - Develop existing and new business accounts with employers and academia, contributing to the growth of the Institution’s membership.  - Undertake sales presentations to cohorts of potential members.  - Provide 121 and workshop support towards professional registration at all membership levels.  - Contribute to, and support engagement at local and national level for the membership offering.  TYPICAL TASKS AND ACTIVITY  - Client Support and Account Development  - Undertake client visits and develop relationships at senior and operational levels with employers, and academic contacts, including development of key accounts.  - Create, deploy and maintain an engagement framework for core approved schemes – to encourage employers to facilitate affiliate membership and EngTech registration.  - Deploy IMechE workshops, training days and presentations to facilitate Member recruitment at all membership levels.  - Deliver appropriate support for engineers working towards professional registration.  - Undertake new business development project work with employers, including development of new schemes such as SRS and MPDS.  - Undertake a number of telemarketing campaigns to support on-going acquisition, retention and migration campaigns.  - Adhere to the processes and administration requirements necessary to maintain an efficient membership database and applications process.  - Develop and maintain appropriate contacts – academics, members and employers ensuring the central marketing database is kept up to date.  - Support professional development activities across the International Development team.  - Recruitment of New Members  - Generate and deploy workshops, presentations and events to recruit affiliates as well as conversion to Associate membership.  - Support and attend conferences, exhibitions and external and IMechE events as the business development representative for the Institution.  - Devise and then manage specific membership growth projects as agreed with Consulting Director for India.  General  - Maintain accurate records and develop appropriate reports relating to all client-based activity.  - Provide ongoing market intelligence detailing client needs, expectations and competitor activity.  - Engage stakeholders in industry and academia, as well as members and active committees, to encourage the take up of member benefits from the IMechE.  - Contribute to the ongoing strategic development of India.  - Ensure that all Members and prospective Members are aware of the brand, the associated values and the key themes.  - Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the post-holder may be required to undertake other duties which are broadly in line with above key responsibilities.   - The post-holder is expected to observe and comply with all IMechE policies and regulations, for example Code of Conduct, Health and Safety, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity etc.  KEY ATTRIBUTES / PERSON SPECIFICATION  - For the purposes of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Guaranteed Interview Scheme, the essential criteria listed below are to be considered the minimum criteria for this role.  Essential:   - Experience in a creating and developing long term business relationships.  - Highly organised with excellent planning, reporting and communication skills.  - Self motivated.  - Ability to influence, advise and coach others.  - Good communicator, both orally and written.  - Able to adjust their communications style to a wide range of audiences.  - Professional with personal integrity.  - Good project management skills.  - Able to make rational, realistic and sound decisions.  - Proven experience of managing own workload with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.  - Take responsibility for self development and for identifying any additional training needs.   - E-literate and competent in developing, administering and using PC and associated networks and systems (e.g. Microsoft Office) to acquire, manipulate and disseminate information.  Preferable:  - Experience of working in a membership organisation.  - Working knowledge, or customer facing experience, of the Further and Higher education system.  - An interest in or experience of engineering.  - Experience in a career development or professional development role.  Other:  - Extensive travel will be required across the UK (including overnight stays where appropriate).  - Committed to the IMechE’s Vision and Values.  - Willingness to take responsibility for his/her own self-development and for identifying any additional training needs.
