1. Lead and actively participate the Guiding Principles of contributing to the sustainability of Business.

2. Maintain the intent and integrity of the Functional Safety Program to ensure a safe operating facility.

3. Evaluation of Legal Compliance - Oversee the review/interpretation of state and federal regulations and other data to determine applicability and implementation of regulations at the site.

4. Develop and maintain procedures, plans, and programs to ensure HS compliance and continuous improvement in HS performance.

5. Communicate with regulatory agencies as needed and provide necessary follow-up for inspections by regulatory agencies.

6. In a responsible manner, provide for representation of Site Operations in community and safety organizations to further Sami-Sabinsa Groups goals and enhance Sami-Sabinsa Groups reputation as a reliable and participating company.

7. Development and implementation of general safe work procedures and practices, including a sound training system in line with building defence philosophy for each aspect of HS (occupational safety, process safety, behavioural safety and Health)

8. Provide for the analysis of accidents, incidents and near misses to include recommended corrective actions that will reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

9. Administer an effective Industrial Hygiene program in consultation with the Factory Medical Officer.

10. To maintain in the highest degree of readiness, provide for the appropriate testing, maintenance and replacement of all equipment and personnel necessary to meet the needs of Site Operations in the areas of Safety, Health, Fire Prevention/Protection.

11. Develop, design, and implement a training process to meet all regulatory required programs and to fulfil the needs of all departmental requirements.

12. Coordinate HS audits and ensure logical implementation/conclusion of the actions thereof for strengthening the performance.

13. Review of all new products/process and identify risk at design stage to recommends suitable method of risk management.

14. Conducting inherent safety review, RFP assessment, plant review/ facility review, Material review for all near process / products.

15. Evaluation of process safety data like thermal stability, reaction hazard studies, powder safety data etc. hand full knowledge on interpretation of data from instruments like DSC, TSU, RC1, ARC etc. Preparation of Safety Data Sheet in collaboration with R&D.

16. Process Safety assessment and tech transfer of scale up.

17. Carrying out & tracking HAZARD Studies for existing and new processes thru multi- disciplinary teams.

18. Development of process safety and industrial hygiene annual calendar and ensure the training conducted as per schedules.

19. Capability enhancement on chemical reaction hazards, Hazop, Process Safety in design and operational controls, safe operating practices for key site personal.

20. Ensuring all incidents are report and investigated in time with 100% compliance to CAPA.

21. Sharing of the incident details within the unit and with other units of the organization.

22. Imparting trainings (awareness and skilled training; introductory and refresher training).

23. Training all the unit EHS personals.

24. Analysis of all change controls raised in the plant for safety impact and recommending safety requirements (Management of Change). Verification of the MoC recommendations.

25. Pre-Start-up Safety Review of the newly installed systems or after major modifications in the plants. Identifying the pre and post start-up requirements.

26. Having good knowledge & implementation of Process safety Management systems

27. Equipment/Machine guarding - of rotating / moving parts, preventing slips and falls or hits against body parts. Inspection of hoists, guards, lifting tools & tackles.

28. Implementing electrical equipment s for zone classification, integrity of flameproof worthiness, equipment earthing, isolation during maintenance works (LOTO) and adherence to electrical procedures / standards.

29. Maintaining a Risk Register - comprising of risks relevant for the site and also as learnt from outside incidents. Developing and implementing risk reduction action plan on it.
