Samhita Social Ventures is a consulting firm that works in the social sector, facilitating and advising clients in shaping up and executing their CSR strategies. We bring together companies, donor organizations and high net-worth individuals to collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social enterprises. Samhita is supported by the Nadathur Group, an initiative of Mr. N.S. Raghavan, one of the co-founder of Infosys.

Our CSR consulting practice has worked with several Fortune 100 companies to shape their CSR strategy, facilitate program implementation, run cause-related marketing campaigns and assess impact created. We also work with donor agencies, foundations and philanthropists on high-impact social programs entailing capacity building, research, events and fundraising campaigns.

We empower various stakeholders to make meaningful and sustainable social impact. Our core services include :

- CSR strategy, program design and implementation

- In-depth research and program assessments

- Capacity building and funding opportunities for social organizations

The Opportunity :

India is going through an inflection point in terms of Philanthropy and Corporate Social responsibility. The recently introduced Company's Act 2013 mandates all profitable companies to have a clear CSR policy and a plan to implement the same, hence it is estimated that 6,000 companies will need to invest INR 20,000 croresin various CSR activities.

We see a very clear role for a firm like ours to partner the new entrants in this field and help them with not just ideas but also a very clear map of execution. The candidate will get exposure to end to end cycle of CSR projects.

We currently facilitate various projects in sectors like healthcare, education, livelihoods, water, and sanitation. The role involves coordinating with consulting, innovation, implementation, senior management team and customers to understand customer / donor requirements and develop impactful customer & donor proposals.

Key responsibilities :

Client Outreach and Market Analysis

- Conduct background research and analysis on client industries and/or problems

- Identify and conduct outreach to customers / donors (directly / indirectly ) to explore potential business opportunities

- Identify, evaluate and track opportunities for customer outreach like events, conferences and seminars Also participate in such forums as and when required

- Identify credible, scalable, impactful and sustainable programs/projects

Client Engagement :

- Support development of impactful project proposals for CSR projects for corporates & donor organisations

- Lead proposal development process by engaging with Consulting, Innovation, Implementation and Senior Management team

- Conduct market research and document best practices, specialized solutions, and integrate them while developing impactful proposals

- After conversion of the client, handover the client account to the relevant team and support them to translate the pitch into action

- Act as a liaison between the operational teams and key client contacts

Development and Capacity Building :

- Support NGO onboarding on Samhita's database and technology platform

- Negotiate and contract NGOs and implementing partners

- Support development of processes and templates to improve team's efficiency and efficacy

- Learning about Samhita's practice areas; contributing insightful ideas and strategy

Qualification and experience :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree with 1 - 3 years of experience working in the development/corporate sector

- Proven ability to conceptualize and write proposals

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced capabilities in Microsoft PowerPoint and

Microsoft Excel is preferred

Desired competencies :

- Previous experience in Sales or pre-Sales related activities

- Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong writing, analytical and research skills

- Familiarity with social sector

- Social and Emotional Intelligence - ability to work efficiently and respectfully with teams. Understands how societies, individuals, and groups work and engage effectively in a savvy, subtle and honest ways

- Ability to work in a multi- disciplinary, ownership driven environment as part of a closely-knit team
