Sales Manager (Retail Sales) - Team handling experience of ASM required

Job Description:

- Sales Manager (Retail Sales) will report to the GM – Sales.

- Sales Manager (Retail Sales) will be reported by ASM- Retail sales

- Sales Manager (Retail) would be responsible for building volumes and market shares for retail sales of FMD division. The position holder will be responsible for the achievement of retail targets, SKU wise, category wise and product wise. The position holder is also responsible for developing new markets and increase FMD – Retail sales reach to retailers across India

- Sales manager is responsible for the penetration of the retail coverage across the country and shall ensure the growth of sales from new customers and new geographical locations. He will be further more responsible for:

a) Target & Planning:

- Target setting and achievement by product, area brand and pack.

- Continuous evaluation of performance and course correction.

- Help the GM to build schemes both for trade & consumer, incentives and other inputs.

- Focus on Potential & Future brands.

- Develop new markets.

- Ensure cost effectiveness and cost control.

b) Human Resource:

- Recruitment.

- Training & development by setting examples.

- Build team work and focus on common goals of organizational growth.

- Ensure discipline in team

- Appraisals

- Adherence to PJP, tour programs to be assured.

- Set examples by being in the market at least 15 to 18 days.

c) Managing competition:

- Keeping track & feedback to GM

- Emulate best practices

- Suggest, develop and implement pro-actively counter measures to retain and gain market shares.

- Timely feedback on pricing and other inputs.

- Sending samples for bench-marking as required.

- Understanding clearly the market trends and competitors behavior.

d) Managing Dealers / Distributors / Depots:

- Recruitment, development and evaluation.

- Taking to task if not performing to company standards,

- Ensuring coverage, distribution and merchandising.

- Ensuring the correct pricing in the market.

- Ensure minimum ROI.

- Aggressively expand in the new geography along with the dedicated team

- Adding new markets and areas as required.

e) Depot Management:

- Inventory control: Maintain stocks as per stock norms at depot / C&F / Warehouse.

- Secondary freight responsibility.

Profile:

- The candidate will need to be well experienced in Sales, with rich experience in FMCG distribution in particular.

- He will be required to increase retail penetration and should have hands on experience of the retail market.
