Position Description:
- RTI India is hiring a Grants Manager on the recently awarded USAID-funded South Asia Regional Energy Project.
- Responsibilities of the Grants Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and monitoring of all grant funds and activities.
- Support the Finance and Grants Director to administer the SAREP Grants Fund.
- Ensure all grants are administered in compliance with USAID policies and procedures and other regulations.
- Work with Objective Leads and Workstream 1 staff to originate new ideas, identify opportunities for innovative energy solutions suited for grants and grantees.
- Use RTI's already-developed Grants Manual as an adjustable template to tailor grants processes, requirements, and reporting mechanisms to SAREP during start-up.
- Oversee grants management process & subcontracts for local organizations, including grant proposal tracking, review, and approval process.
- Maintain financial management files for grants and ensure audit trail for all necessary grant documentation.
- Ensure timely financial disbursements and compliance with grants financial management policies, monitor all grant expenses, and provide regular updates on grant status.
- Provide technical assistance as required to build capacity of local partners & grantees.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field with 6 to years of experience; or bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience.
- At least five years of experience in grants design and administration, management, and distribution of grants; past experience administering USAID grants strongly preferred.
- Experience working with technology companies, research organizations, entrepreneurs, venture capital funds, civil society organizations and local communities.
- Good knowledge of development issues in the program regions.
- Familiarity with energy sector in India is preferred.
- Strong oral/written communication skills in English and ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels in the organization.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
- Working knowledge in MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with automated accounting systems; QuickBooks are preferred.
