About Company:
Company Profile & Position Specifications
History: Robo was founded in 2001 and has been a pioneer and innovator in the construction aggregates market. Today Robo is among the largest organized players in the market. True North invested in the company in Dec-2007. True North has a controlling majority. Robo is a professionally managed, board run company. The business: It delivers this through 5 operational plants in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Vijayawada. It has around 500 people across various geographies and departments. Each plant operates like a profit centre and the shared services (like HR, Finance, Mining etc.) are central.
Business challenges: Robo operates in an industry where bulk of it is unorganized. This nature of the industry means that compliance is weak and practices are outdated. Internationally this is a very attractive and organized sector represented by large cement majors. Eventually in India also it is expected to operate in a similar manner but this transformation will take time. Robo being a pioneer will lead the transformation and create the talent pool and process benchmarks required for the industry evolution. The key challenge is to continue the task of building a differentiated organized company with internationally benchmarked practices in this unorganized market. Read more about
