Research Role - Global & US Strategy

Our client a Big 4 consulting firm is looking for highly motivated individuals with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail to be part of The hiring firm Global Strategy & Innovation team in India. The role provides an opportunity to develop corporate/global business unit strategies, support business development, and analyze sectors, markets, and competitors across geographies.

The Team:

Global Strategy & Innovation: Focused on charting the direction of The hiring firm by Informing, formulating, and supporting execution of strategies, analyzing competitor and market movements, and shaping Strategic Growth Offerings (SGOs). The team helps outline the strategic direction of The hiring firm, shapes, and explores the impact of the next big client markets and guides the development and use of market-ready solutions. We employ cutting-edge strategic practices that reshape our perspectives, environments, and businesses while connecting our people with each other and our global clients in fresh and exciting ways.

US Strategy: The US Strategy team is part of the Businesses, Global, and Strategic Services (BGS) group within The hiring firm US. The team helps shape the strategic direction of The hiring firm by exploring the impact of the next big client markets and guiding the development and use of market-ready solutions. It provides strategic services to analyze the competitive landscape, market trends, and growth opportunities to support the development of the internal strategy for the US firm. The team plays a crucial role in supporting the US firm leadership in charting the strategic direction, considering the emerging growth opportunities, competition, internal capabilities, and broad market trends.

Work you'll do

You'll act a team player with a primary focus on research and analysis that facilitates business decision-making. You will help The hiring firm's top senior leaders solve their toughest problems and help them take advantage of their most significant market opportunities. You will bring an independent point of view and your insights will contribute to a diversity of ideas in working with internal clients around the world on unique and challenging strategy projects. The teams also work with multiple levels of leadership to strategize projects across The hiring firm's Member Firms globally, guiding project development through lifecycle stages including innovation, market assessment, launch and sustainment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Bring a strategic mindset and critical thinking skills with ability to execute on details, while remaining flexible in an evolving and ambiguous environment

- Conduct market research and sensing activities on global and regional topics and synthesize findings into implications, key trends and/or recommendations for assigned workstreams and deliverables

- Gather information using internal and external research resources such as industry journals, analyst reports, stakeholder interviews and information databases to develop an intuitive understanding of the professional services industry and broader business environment

- Work with large datasets and build quantitative models and business cases

- Support and review quantitative and qualitative analysis including market segmentation and sizing, market trend and competitive landscape analyses, client portfolio analyses, business and financial modelling, operations analyses, etc.

- Apply established tools and methodologies to support business decision-making

- Build relationships with onshore colleagues and help build consensus and achieve goals through influence

Specific Skills and Qualifications

- MBA or master's degree from a premier B-school

- Four or more years of work experience, including at least three in research and analysis roles

- Should be able to demonstrate key Strategy development skills such as secondary research & analysis, quant. modelling, storyboarding, critical thinking and synthesis / presentation

- Know a wide variety of secondary data sources (e.g. Factiva, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, OneSource, etc.) and be able to advise/direct others to find the best data/research quickly and reliably

- Strong MS Office skills (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), knowledge of analytical tools such as R, Tableau would be an added advantage

- Good understanding of business issues and broader business environment / concepts (knowledge of professional services industry will be an added advantage)

- Excellent writing skills and be able to present complex ideas succinctly for senior executives

- Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong executive presence and presentation skills

- Self-motivated and a good team player (also be able to work, independently), preferably with experience working in virtual teams

- Must be able to develop and own high-quality deliverables
