JOB SUMMARY
It is for a CNR (Chemicals & Natural Resources) Research Analyst role.
The candidate should have industry knowledge from a business/market research perspective and will perform secondary research focusing on CNR - Chemical and Natural Resources (Mining, Metals, Forest Products, Building Materials) topics such as industry trends, market sizing and opportunities, competitor intelligence, benchmarking, financial analysis.
Knowledge of market dynamics; key industry players; the critical metrics for evaluating company performance; and the structure of companies- operations are all necessary.
Passion for and understanding of the Chemicals-Natural Resources industry: understanding of key industry trends and challenges; the value chain and how product reaches market; company financial value drivers; key players; opportunities in developed and emerging markets; and customer trends.
This role is in our Bangalore-based team, which is a team of 60+ researchers covering all our industries and business lines globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Perform secondary research and assist with supporting CNR research needs on key topics as highlighted above.
- Manage and perform complex research across CNR topics when needed utilizing different sources and advanced secondary research techniques (desk research, interviews of subject matter experts). This includes in-depth research on geographic and/or horizontal segment trends, competitors, industry market trends and issues, and relevant technology topics.
- Provide support to consultants and local research team in the use of internal and external resources, information sources and services.
- Conduct in-depth reference interviews with customer to identify key questions to be addressed and the nature and purpose of the deliverable.
- Develop relationships with executives and market secondary research services to those executives, both orally and through written communication.
- Identify new sources of relevant content and contribute to evaluations of external content for acquisition.
- Development of CNR topic expertise and knowledge as well as deep understanding of relevant specialty sources.
- Actively participate in general cross-team responsibilities e.g. participating in Research workgroups at local, regional or global level etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Need to be fluent in business English (spoken and written)
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1+ years (max 3 years) business research experience years of business and competitor research experience, preferably in a consulting or IT services environment, IT services industry analyst firm, and or demonstrated equivalent skill.
- Exposure to specific industry segment(s) in CNR - Chemical and Natural Resources (Mining, Metals, Forest Products, Building)
- Work experience collaborating in a team of research professionals.
- Understanding of business and economics issues at large.
- Working with senior executive customers, who are the high end users of the research output.
- Experience of writing reports, and presentation slides for delivery to internal and external audience.
- Experience with alternative modes of research delivery/data visualization tools also a plus (e.g., Tableau, Qlik etc.).
